Our story

Christina Chi was born out of a passion to have more out of life. With our love for style, vintage pieces and travel. The founder Christina followed her true passions in pursuing a creative career she landed in Southern Spain, the hub of quality leather goods and manufacturing know-how, with a sketchbook full of ideas. After a month of absorbing the culture and learning, she returned to London with her first samples.The brand was named Christina Chi, Chi meaning 'good energy'.

Our mission

Our mission is to be a recognized accessories brand within the fashion industry and all over the world. By designing effortlessly stylish products that are desirable and have a constructive quality. Making our customer feel thought of by catering towards their dynamic life and style.

What problem are we solving?

We want our customers to have access to premium quality bags and lifestyle accessories that are not only stylish but practical, unique and affordable. We believe that our product and brand experience will enhance confidence and provide meaning and inspiration into the lives of our customers. 

How are we different?

We offer everyday accessories and bags suited for the creative lifestyle. That combine modern, clean and vintage aesthetics. Our products are designed in Europe with a quality that is desirable and constructive, at a premium but accessible price point.

We will better the competition by creating engaging experiences with our customer; from the rare and unexpected design of our bags, released in limited editions to our customer interaction and packaging. We want our products to give the experience of finding something that is rare and worthwhile.

Market size/ opportunity 

30% of spenders in the UK are willing to shop with new designer brands (46% established brands)

£1.4 billion pounds spent on handbags a year in UK (fashion accessories 2018)  handbags account for 50% of the total accessories market. The market will grow by 14% over the next 5 years.

From day one we have the potential to be global. Online shopping and having a good media presence within the fashion industry is a key driver in facilitating this. Our revenue model involves four revenue streams which include; the direct sale of goods and services, online sale of goods, wholesale partnerships with other retailers and licensing/ partnership and consulting agreements.

Emerging markets are experiencing a rise in disposable income which is a significant driver in the premium and luxury goods market. Locations such as China, Africa,South America are a key target to grow internationally.

Why we seek funding?

So far we have invested close to £15K of personal money into Christina Chi. We have traveled around Europe and sourced quality leather fabrics, suitable manufacturers, developed samples and tested the market.

To help us reach our next milestone the funding will help manufacture our twice a year seasonal collection of bags and finished goods. Build brand awareness through PR and social media. Secure our first wholesale account partnership and launch our online store with our first 150 customers.

The Team

Creative Director and Designer,  Christina Banjo

Christina is a London born-Nigerian creative and entrepreneur, a former HR professional turned Accessories Designer.

Christina is a graduate of Kent University with a degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management.

She also works as a consultant with notable celebrities and fashion brands such as IVY PARK an athleisure brand owned by Beyonce. Her work through these brands has been featured in Vogue, GQ, Business of Fashion, London Men's Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week.

Christina's team consists of freelancers in PR and Marketing and Legal to aid in the success of the brand.
