My name is Starlight Tucker, and yes, that is my given name. My mother spotted it on a flyer for a theater, and just by coincidence, theatrics is a large element in my sense of purpose. I have everything I need as far as ambition and determination. When asked what I am grateful for, creativity is one of the first things that comes to my mind. I could talk about my ideas all day. I will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications this winter. In the following semester, I will be enrolled at Full Sail University for a Bachelor and Masters program in Creative Writing for Entertainment. I’ve been working hard to create while earning high grades and keeping a part time job as a college English tutor.
In the time that I’ve had little supplies, I self-published a mystery novel, The Trouble with Dreamers, and wrote two albums worth of lyrics. I also contributed to forums, blogs, and promoted my Instagram. I use my drawings for cover art as much as possible. My website, www.starlighttucker.com, is being developed as a map to all of my work. While working part time and being a full time student, I purchased supplies for photography and recording one by one over the course of three years.
I want to record music, audiobooks, podcasts, and freelance work, but what holds me back is the conditions for recording. I have a big family, pets, and am stuck in the middle of Phoenix! Finding quiet is a tall order. I had planned on utilizing resources at my university and community college, but that's not going to be able to happen. It's also hard to loosen up when I'm around other people- I thrive in isolation. Now, I’m ready for a larger expense to propel my business: a private office!
