Help us build the world's first doctor-approved mobile app on introducing real food to babies!
Project Description
We are a mom-led team of pediatric food and feeding experts, doctors, swallowing specialists, and dietitians determined to make starting solids fun again.
To make it easier to learn how to introduce real food to infants starting solids, we are building the world's first food database for babies. So far it houses 185 foods and is being used by 1M families worldwide. When done, the food database will house every edible ingredient in the world. It was (and continues to be) a painstaking process, with 6 licensed professionals reviewing each food to decipher whether it's a choking hazard, allergen, and how to cut and prepare for babies. To make the database more accessible, we now aspire to build a free mobile application. An app that makes it possible for parents and caregivers to look up any food, see if it's safe for their baby, whether it's an allergen, and see how to cut and prepare it based on baby's age, all from the ease of their phones.
Right now there are more than one million babies starting solids in the U.S. alone. Let's make it possible for anyone to access the information they need to raise a happy, independent eater.
