Project Description
- What is the mission of your company or project?
Our mission is two folds. One is to help women have better access to products and brands made by women of color for women of color. Two is to have women of color-owned businesses get the exposure that they deserve.
- The problem we are solving.
We are solving a problem that Josephine, the founder, herself has/had. Finding products that are for women of color made by women of color. Products that do not have harmful chemicals and that work without hair, skin, and body.
- What is the market size/opportunity?
47% of women-owned businesses are owned by women of color. There is a HUGE market. The issue is finding them. They do not have as much exposure as their counterparts.
- The problem we are solving?
Self Boxx curates products made by women of color and sends them to subscribers to try. This also helps our subscribers learn about companies and brands that they probably did not know existed.
- Why we are seeking funding and how we will spend the funding?
We are seeking funding to jump-start the back end of the company. We need funds to make sure that we have products without delaying the shipments to our customers.

How long until I get my rewards?
- If your reward is advertisement and or shout out in our pamphlet, it will be in our pamphlet when subscription boxes are released.
- If your reward is an advertisement or a shout-out on our website, it will be up as soon as we launch.
- If your reward is a year worth of subscription boxes you will receive the boxes when they are released.
The 15th of February, May, August, and November.
When will you launch?
- We will be launching in January 2022. Our first Boxx will be shipped between February 15th to March 15th of 2022.
How many products will a box hold?
- Each Boxx will have between 5 to 10 full-size products.
Why are you only releasing 4 boxes a year?
- We only release four boxes a year to limit waste. We have found that many people do not get the opportunity or chance to finish or use all the products they receive every month. This then results in having the products until it expires and or products being trashed without first being used or recycled.
Will the products all be beauty-related?
- No, the Boxx will include beauty, wellness, art, accessories, and even books.
