My name is Rina Kang. I am the owner of Say Woof, a dog photography business. Say Woof is a small, AAPI and woman-owned business since 2019.
At Say Woof, we coordinate pop-up events (referred to as “pup-ups”) in partnerships with local pet-friendly businesses. The goal for Say Woof is to help rescue shelters as well as abandoned dogs. We do this by donating 10% of every pup-up’s earnings to local shelters in need.
Over the past three years, I have photographed over 1,700 dogs. Through this, Say has been able to donate approximately $7,500 to the following non-profit organizations: Ginger’s Pet Rescue; Old Dog Heaven; KDS Rescue; Jindo Love Rescue; Yakima Humane Society; Rescue Every Dog; UAnimals in Ukraine; and more. Needless to say, I want to continue to make an impact in the world and in our community through the services and work I can provide.
Fortunately, Say Woof is continuing to grow! And we have many regular customers who are extremely loyal to us. Our Say Woof studio brings lots of laughter and joy for our clients as we capture unique moments of our furry friends. We are grateful for each of them, and the many referrals our current customers bring. We are so honored to be able to impact Seattle in this way!
As a one-woman operation, it’s time to move on to bigger and better things by setting up a permanent home.
And to further spread this joy, Say Woof recently contracted a retail space in South Lake Union–we are opening our very own studio space! I owe it all to the amazing community that has built itself around Say Woof. The outpouring support thus far has been surreal. I owe it to all of you to make this studio dream come to life. Although this new venture is so exciting, there is also much to consider and plan for so that we can continue to bring smiles to our community in the way only Say Woof can.
THE BREAKDOWN:
This campaign will essentially fund the opening of Say Woof Studio. I'm hoping the funds will cover equipment, renovations + labor, licenses/permits, signage, furniture, starting inventory, branding, etc.
I know $35,000 is a lot of money to ask for. But starting a business is expensive, and just securing this brick-and-mortar location costs much more than the campaign goal itself. This last push, with your help, will build a real home for Say Woof to share with the entire community. It'd be a dream come true, and I can't wait to see this project come through and to share my studio space with all of you.
*Rewards will be available once the studio opens with no expiration date.
Thank you for supporting Say Woof.
