What happens if entirety of the funds cannot be raised?
The fundraising campaign goal covers for elements that composes the ideal entertainment experience. In the event of this goal not been met, there will be adjustments to the amount of performances and elements that can be cut and still run a beautiful event.
If the campaign surpasses the goal, how will the funds be used?
Salsa Stories will be a recurring part of the public cultural agenda of the City of New York. Fundraising that exceeds the goal will be used in the next event calendar's pre-production budget.
I believe in this project and I want to contribute but I prefer donating to nonprofits.
Salsa Stories has a fiscal sponsor: NYWIFT – New York Women In Film & Television. Donations through their nonprofit organization can be an alternative. If this is how you would like to contribute please contact info@bianka.nyc for details.
How are the events taking place during a pandemic?
According to NYC Mayor’s Office of Citywide Event Coordination and Management’s Covid-19 safety guidelines, an event or performance must comply with any applicable requirements on outdoor cultural events and gatherings set by federal, state, or New York City law or guidelines or other directives from the governor or any government agency. As of March 19, the outdoor social gathering limit is 500 people pursuant to Executive Order.
In order to limit crowding during the COVID-19 pandemic, NYC Emergency Executive Order 130, as extended, temporarily restricts the NYPD from issuing sound device permits to an applicant utilizing a stage or video screen. Stages and video screens are permissible without amplified sound. To solve this restriction the event relies on transmitting the sound from the screening to individual headsets.
All applicants were required to submit a COVID-19 Safety Affirmation Plan. The plan includes physical distancing, face coverings, hygiene, a communication plan for employees, volunteers, and attendees, and mandatory health screening assessments for employees and/or volunteers prior to the event.
Non-essential gathering limits are subject to change based on State and City law or guidelines, and events are subject to capacity limits and cancellation based on changes in law or guidelines. These restrictions are expected to change as the city progresses into higher vaccination rates. The Citywide Event Coordination and Management is constantly issuing updates regarding the restrictions. As the city progresses into normalcy the permit restrictions will be lifted/adjusted accordingly.
