Project Description
- Our mission is to serve the community by accepting unadoptable and special needs animals and hiring ex-convicts and felons to build promising and prosperous futures. We are the ranch of second chances.
- We reducing the effects of reentry stress for some inmates and providing bite history rehabilitation training which has never been done before through a rescue.
- This is a completely untapped market so the prospects are endless.
- This will reduce shelter deaths every year and provide on the job training and education programs from parolees which is a greatly needed program in the Raleigh-triangle area.
- All funding will go directly to implementing programs and facility needs; currently, no member of the board is paid and they will remain that way until our first-year goals have been completed to the fullest extent
- We have four female board members and five volunteers.

- What is your story?
- Rusty's Rescue Ranch is an all women-led rescue that will provide homes for undesirable and unadoptable animals while offering jobs for ex-convicts and felons. This rescue is in honor of Rusty an Australian Shepherd who came to us with a bite history and due to lack of resources for bite history animals we were unable to rehabilitate him and so, he was euthanized in October. We applied for every single sanctuary from North Carolina to Colorado for help and two and half years later and several months too late we are still on the waitlist. We do not currently possess a physical location but will be operating out of the RTP area and are currently operating out Raleigh.
