Our mission is to provide the community a clean and welcoming oasis for regeneration and self-care, utilizing high-quality natural elements and organic, mindfully sourced products and services.

The Vision of Root + Mineral Wellness is to be a leader in creating social and environmental equity within the spa industry. Superior service supports holistic wellness by way of heat therapy, relaxation and connection: to a space, to one another and of mind and body.

OUR CHALLENGE

There has been a paradigm shift in the way people view preventative health and overall wellness. The pandemic has shed light on our fundamental need for human connection and the importance of building our immunity. We feel our community is craving socially and environmentally conscious businesses that hold space for collective healing.

In the wake of the social uprising and global pandemic, we've seen the dramatic need for this type of self-care. Isolation and anxiety are at an all time high and the options for where to go to relieve stress by way of heat therapy are limited. It's important we come together to rebuild as a community and support one another as we navigate these uncertain times.

OUR OPPORTUNITY

By providing community wellness, we are addressing issues of our modern society including high stress, chronic illness, and a lack of connection. We have designed a calming and beautiful refuge with both social and private experiences that will invigorate all of your senses. Root + Mineral Wellness is for adults who are looking to prioritize preventative health, alleviate chronic aches and pains or find a place to connect with their community.

We had an amazing time hosting sauna pop-up events this summer, renting a mobile sauna from local builders; Stokeyard Outfitters. The mobile sauna allowed us to provide a taste of heat therapy to our guests and their "Pandemic-friendly pods." The demand for heat therapy was resounding after each one hour experience. It was through these events, we gained priceless knowledge about how our community utilizes heat + cold therapy, as well as what they would like to see in our community space. Additionally, Roots for the Soul curated a custom adaptogen tonic and co-founder, Marissa Galan made healing bath teas for all guests to take home. Special thank you to Peter Sherno and Blain Traughber for capturing and beautifully showcasing these moments.

FOUNDERS

Friends for 25 years, we hold two decades of experience in managing every aspect of business and operations. We combine our love of wellness, people, sustainability and design to offer an experience like no other in the Twin Cities. As long time clients of the spa industry, we understand what our customers are looking for and seek to truly serve their needs.

We began our journey to conception in 2018, with the help of Women Venture, a non-profit organization helping women write their business plan to jump start their unique ideas and reach success in the market. From there, we aligned with ifundwomen for coaching support to continue to progress our concept, share it with our community and gear up for this campaign.

OUR COMMITMENT TO ANTI-RACISM

As Root + Mineral Wellness sets its foundation, we want to address and work to dismantle the injustices our BIPOC community has faced and continues to do so on a daily basis. As white, cis-hetero business owners, we can not ignore our role in fostering an equitable landscape where BIPOC have a safe space for wellness. The message must remain that we cannot go back to status quo. This conversation will continue to be threaded throughout the building of our business, through actionable items and how we operate and serve all people.  Our role in the wellness industry is to align as anti-racist; through our hiring, sourcing and community support. We will make a commitment to uplifting and amplifying under-served and co-opted voices in this industry and serve as a company that encourages the reclaiming of practices and services originating from communities of color.

OUR SPACE + WHAT WE OFFER

From the moment you enter Root + Mineral Wellness, we thoughtfully impart a feeling of warmth and comfort from both the physical space and our staff.  It is our utmost responsibility to offer a safe sanctuary and have done our due diligence to expand upon the basic CDC guidelines. We utilize industry resources for ways to keep air quality top notch, high touch areas disinfected and safe distance between guests and therapists. 

Throughout the space there will be natural elements, fauna and organic shapes to build the foundation of ambiance. Scent of living plants and flowers dance in the air as gentle sounds provide a calm energy, relieving stress, guiding the body back into balance.  The flow from room to room is up to you, as you utilize a private sauna and cold plunge, melt away stress with organic and holistic body rituals, then perfect the practice to simply lounge; let our surroundings hit a reset button for your day. 

We provide a clean space to regain energy, connect with your COVID safe circle and utilize healing heat therapy to increase immunity by way of releasing toxins and stress. A nice seasonal tonic can hit the spot, as well. More than ever, it is important to provide our bodies and mind the time to heal. Root + Mineral Wellness is here for you because you deserve it and wellness is for everyone.
