- Who/what is ROCKTOPUS?
ROCKTOPUS® LLC is a full service, down-to-earth, small but fiercely emerging LLC with 20 years of advertisement & creative design experience. We give you branding, high end logo design, digital marketing, social media management, graphic print & website design services sure to knock the socks off your competitors. We offer competitive, affordable rates which beat the heck out of any big-time NYC or LA design agency.
- There are a ton of graphic design pros out there... what makes ROCKTOPUS different?
I truly care about my clients and my goal is to make a difference, particularly in the lives of women who are aspiring business owners - my marketing & design is geared towards that audience (the octopus has long been a multi-cultural symbol of femininity... and furthermore, we are multi-taskers where having those 8 arms would surely come in handy, even more now in modern times). I want to make premium high-end agency branding services available & accessible to those who can't shell out 6-figures to a large branding agency. My goal is to provide these rock star services with empathy & compassion to help others much like myself launch their start-ups the right way without breaking the bank. If your existing company taken a hit during this new erratic economic landscape, if you were laid off amid the pandemic & have a product or idea, but lack the Fortune 500 funding to build your brand in a beautiful & intuitive manner fine-tuned to your target audience, I want to help you get there.
- I myself am a woman who grew up in an underprivileged household, raised by a single mother. I want to help women just like me - statistics from 2020 show how large that audience has become. Women-owned businesses are growing at a rate of 5%. There are 13 million women-owned businesses in the US. Furthermore, women-of-color account for nearly 90% of the new women-owned businesses annually in 2020. These women-owned businesses are mostly in industries which investors find less appealing, such as fashion, education, household services, or retail. Women-owned businesses tend to start off with fewer assets and less capital than men-owned businesses, which means less money to invest in branding. I am asking for your help, so that I can help them too!

Stay Relevant in Changing Times! Much like technology, design trends change rapidly. So does your audience. Small emerging businesses & individuals can come up with the best idea in the world, but without the right brand identity, they may end up lost in a sea of competing companies who simply just had more cash on hand to invest in marketing & design.
- How will your contribution make a difference? I will use this funding to continue to invest in building my business - this includes advertisement expenses, software subscriptions & hiring employees to manage workload when business becomes steady & constant. This contribution will enable me to keep my cost for branding & design services low in comparison to the average branding agency, and to provide free services to nonprofits & women in need of help, as I continue to invest in growing my company. I was laid off amid the early onset of the pandemic, and have spent much of my life savings on building this company & essential costs such as rent & utilities.
- About the Founder: My name is Danielle. I have 20 solid years of hands-on art & creative direction expertise in branding, advertisement, marketing & graphic design. I have worked with all B2B, B2C & D2C industries, as well as nonprofit organizations.
I've devoted my life to my career since 2000 at the age of sixteen, coming from an underprivileged household & determined to achieve success. Extremely hardworking & self-taught, my two decades of "boots on the ground" hands-on career experience in dynamic agency environments give me a rare advantage on how I handle & manage workflow. I have gained access to important resources and an excellent network of collaborative professionals throughout the years, ensuring full scale capabilities whether you want a custom built search engine, or a handmade artisan trade show booth.
My unique background has shaped me to be a motivated, determined, versatile & flexible professional, as well as a humble human being who values kindness & appreciates everything in life. While it’s true that I have taken an unorthodox road to be where I am today professionally, that is what effective design is all about - seeing a bigger picture, reaching new heights & pushing the boundaries!
Small but fierce! Little woman, big dreams! ROCKTOPUS is currently a one-woman show but I have high hopes for my blossoming company, including hiring a team of diverse young female interns, mentorships for aspiring female entrepreneurs & support for women looking to enter the male-dominated highly competitive field of graphic design, community outreach programs & more.
I've had guardian angels along the way who helped me achieve things I never thought could be possible in my life, and they always taught me the importance of paying it forward. As my business grows, I will be in a position to make more of a difference. The more I receive, the more I can give back.

When will I receive my reward?
Estimated monthly dates & turnarounds are provided for each reward, based on current availability. However, this may be subject to change based on time & availability in the event that this crowdfunding effort generates an unusually large amount of interest. If for any reason I cannot honor your requests, your contribution will be promptly returned to you. Please feel free to contact me directly in advance for any questions or concerns you may have in relation to timing.
Why are you doing this?
You know when you're on an airplane & they instruct you to put your oxygen mask on first before helping others? I have spent my life ignoring that rule. And so, I am asking those of you who have your oxygen masks firmly in place for assistance, so that I can continue to help the people in my life who need me, and hopefully many more in the future.
Is this your first crowdfunding experience?
Yes, and it may be painfully obvious, but I hope you'll give me an A for effort :) In fact, my entire life has been spent never asking for help, always striving to manage everything myself without the assistance of anyone or any program. I've always been more than willing to put active effort & hard work into achieving my goals. COVID-19 has changed my ability to achieve this all on my own.
