Cafe Ponte has been a staple in the downtown Portland community for 4 1/2 years. We have also created a space catered to women entrepreneurs to host evening and weekend events since we opened in 2015.
Because our sales come primarily from downtown hotels and nearby tech companies, we were forced to temporarily close our doors on March 18th when tourism numbers fell and our regulars moved to WFH.
We serve hand crafted tea and coffee beverages along with pastries and a few grilled sandwiches options. Our retail options include bags of whole bean coffee, tea, travel mugs, hats and T-shirts. We also provide space for local artists to share their work and sell prints from our shelves.
We are currently seeking funding to cover utility costs and to help our baristas recover from loss of tips and income.
Our team (other than Sabrina, the owner) includes Kiana, our incredibly friendly and efficient shift lead; Cayde, our part-time closer and full-time badass, and Eli, our resident poet and midshift.
This is a time of uncertainty and we know this is a lot to ask. It will take community to keep us all afloat during the next while and we hope that you will consider helping us continue to provide a safe place for everyone! Every contribution matters to us greatly. Thank you so much.
