Reducing, Reusing & Upcycling 'Artistic Waste'

Artdillo's mission is to reduce art waste & lower cost barriers to creativity.  We are a women-owned online platform for selling, buying or trading used art supplies & equipment.

The other side of art & creation that is less talked about is waste. With the global art market in 2020 valued at $50B, 'Artistic Waste' is no small problem. The artistic process is not just about making, but also waste creation from practice, repetition, experimentation, exploration, and iteration after reiteration. From the dumpster diving culture among art students, to mountains of unproductive squandering in storages—'Artistic Waste', the cost of creating art, and resource inequality are all a tragic part of the creative process.

Artdillo is an online marketplace for artists & creatives to sell, purchase or trade used art supplies for reuse, recycling and upcycling. It will also serve as a platform for local interactions and building connections within the art community. By providing this platform, Artdillo hopes to reduce cost barriers to creativity and reduce the amount of 'Artistic Waste' produced.

Artdillo was founded by me, Rinette Korea, an artist, designer, and arts educator of  6+ years who was motivated by the lack of a space and community to fight resource issues within the art community. I am asking for your support as a first time founder at 24, and need funding for maintenance, increasing features on the site, marketing, and hiring help to expand the company.
