Project Description

  • Our mission is to provide a safe place with a foundation of family-oriented morals and life skills for teenagers to become self-sufficient.
  • We understand that transition from adolescence to adulthood can be challenging, especially for youths from low-income and marginalized communities and youth that's in foster care.  The obstacles to independent living include occasional family conflicts, irresponsible behaviors, lack of sense of direction, failure to succeed in school, difficulties in relationships, and inability to meet basic needs.  A lack of support during this stage can exacerbate isolation and anxiety and cultivate irresponsible adulthood.  We have established Quan's House to help them navigate these challenges.
  • The need for this type of program and business is extreme.
  • We are committed to developing programs that give teenagers ages between 12-21 years comprehensive tools, skills and resources needed to achieve lasting success.  We provide room and board to them in a family oriented and ensure their basic needs are met. We give them access to individual counseling and mental health services. We work with state and local governmental entities and various independent and community organizations to access disadvantaged youth.  We also engage them in daily group meetings, life skills training and workshops, online educational support, job search, and weekly team-building activities. We believe that our approach is instrumental in encouraging them to become self-sufficient, build self-esteem and values, establish healthy relationship patterns, maintain positive mindsets, and maintain organized environments.
  • We are asking for funds to continue providing a safe and supportive environment: Teenagers who are in foster care or have experienced trauma may not have a stable home environment. A group home can provide a safe and supportive environment where they can live and receive the care and attention they need.
  • Offering access to educational and vocational programs: Many teenagers in group homes may not have access to educational or vocational programs. Raising money for a group home can help provide these programs to help teenagers develop the skills they need to succeed.
  • Providing access to mental health services: Many teenagers in group homes have experienced trauma or have mental health needs. The money raised can help provide access to mental health services to help them cope and heal.
  • Improving living conditions: Raising money for a group home can help improve the living conditions for the teenagers living there. This can include upgrades to the facility, better furnishings, and improvements to the grounds.
  • Meeting basic needs: The money raised can help provide for basic needs like food, clothing, and hygiene products. This can help alleviate some of the financial burden on the group home and ensure that the teenagers have their basic needs met.
  • Overall, raising money for a teenager group home can have a significant impact on the lives of the teenagers who live there. It can help provide them with a safe and supportive environment, access to educational and vocational programs, mental health services, and improve their overall living conditions.
  • Quan's House Team: Quaneshia Flemming, Founder/Executive Director; Tomika Hester, Agency Administrator; Board of Directors: Quaneshia Flemming (President), Deloris Benjamin (Secretary), Lashaunda Mason (Treasurer), Valerie Ferguson (Board Member), Darrell Ragin (Board Member).
