PotteeMouth Tees, a T-shirt company inspired by graffiti art found in women’s bathrooms. The shirts are edgy, raw, provocative and intended to publicly voice women’s silent thoughts on strength, humor, and love.
Pottee Mouth Tees will help amplify women’s voices in a funny, rebellious way to reach a wider audience, and have a greater social impact.
Six years ago, I started taking photos of graffiti that I read in women’s bathrooms. The words and pictures that women were sharing really inspired me.
Then it hit me. The ladies room is more than just a bathroom. It’s our meeting room. Sure we fix our lip gloss. But it’s where we go to have a private conversation about what is going on, get a reality check, or even a good laugh.
From the Women’s March, #metoo, and #askhermore, 2018 has showcased women’s issues, and carried brave women’s stories of mistreatment to the forefront, and this graffiti art has inspired me to give voice to the renegade women out there, to proudly wear their messages, and show that women support each other.
My name is Clare Riordan. I am a proud feminist who is part of the movement.
PotteeMouth tees is made in the U.S.A, something of which I am very proud. I am using Ambient Inks, a small printing company in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, for production of the shirts. The tank tops are 100% cotton and the T-shirts are a cotton/poly blend. The shirts are durable, fashionable and will take you from barre class to the bar.
