Project Description
Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, clean and diverse space where children can play freely while parents eat, drink, work, play, and relax.
The Challenge
While standard cafés allow children, most of their customers are looking for a quiet place to work and at the same time, a lot of parents are looking for a place where they can take their children and not feel uncomfortable or met with aggression.
Opportunity
To combine the experiences of an indoor playground and café while creating an environment of inclusiveness, compassion, and joy.
Our Play Café
The Play Café by TWP is a parent-supervised space designed with both parents and children in mind.
What we offer
We will have six main areas that are easily visible from every part of our facility: Baby area (ages 0-2), Indoor playground (ages 2-8), Café/Retail, Lounge/Office for parents and older siblings, Library, and Party Space.
Play: Join us for parent-supervised play during the week and at select times during the weekend and utilize our entire space by reserving your spot or dropping in. We also offer private playtimes. Parents can work or play, eat or relax while they watch their children freely play in our carefully curated play areas.
Café: Partnering with local small businesses in the community we will offer a variety of food, snacks, and beverages, and of course coffee and tea to our customers.
Learn: Join us as we engage in many classes hosted by members of the community whether it's mommy and me yoga, music time, art time, storytime, etc. there is something for everyone!
Party: We specialize in children's parties and baby showers. When you book a party with us, you have the entire space to yourself. Your party comes complete with everything you can imagine. Just show up!

We will be open 6 days a week
What we need:
We need $75,000 to build our space and to open our doors this year! To meet this goal we are offering a variety of rewards.
Our founder:
We are a black and woman-owned business focused on family and community. Christa Carter-Williams is a mother of four and has owned her creative business The Williams Party for over 8 years. The Williams Party combines her love for children's parties and finding the best products to help other moms through mom life working with brands from Disney to Target. Raising 4 children in Chicago, Christa has had first-hand experience in understanding what children and parents need when it comes to spaces where both are accepted and included.
