Quick History: Platinum Hobo started out in Philadelphia, PA during the late 2000s. I, Lenore Johnson created handmade bags and accessories and sold them to local artisanal shops in the Philadelphia and King of Prussia area, in addition to artwork. Just as I had a flow going with my endeavors, I fell ill with lupus and could barely use my hands as one of the symptoms. That essential appeared to kill that dream. I held out to get well and after a while, I did. Fast forward and that dream did not die. Platinum Hobo LLC launched and became official in May 2019! Now a small business based in Maryland, Platinum Hobo provides quality clothing and accessories for men and women. Platinum Hobo is based in Maryland but ran online on our website. I wear many hats as the managing member of the company such as creative director, sometimes model, advertising, photographer, web designer, and more.

Problem: We have seen the increase of low quality clothing, created by people working in poor conditions. When you order something and get it, at times it can be a big disappointment.

Mission: The Platinum Hobo brand aims to be a trusted source of unique, quality, edgy, and artful clothing in a wide range of sizes. Both quirky and sophisticated, we are a brand dedicated to improving your life through style.

The Slogan I came up with in 2009 or so was “Frivolity is Necessity”. That means that no matter what you are going through, it’s the small or even frivolous things that keep you going. They brighten your mood. They give you encouragement. It can be something in your favorite color, your favorite treat or aroma. These things in normalcy may seem small but when you are going through something you notice how big the are. They lift you up.

Seeking Funding For: Pre-COVID-19, we were seeking funds to expand and now we need it even more to do so. Platinum Hobo will use the funds for product expansion, creating pop-up shops, and increasing advertising.
