U.S. Justice System Deprives Underserved Communities to Equal Access:
The reality of “Equal Justice” in America for underserved and unserved communities is not realistic. The legal system is not free of prejudice, genderism, and biases, which means there is a deprivation to equal access to a just judicial system. In addition, the socioeconomic disadvantage of many in underserved communities do not have the financial resources to hire legal representation and pay for cost of court litigation fees to address many of their conflict concerns.
The best alternative resource for them to address their issues and resolve conflict is dispute resolution services. These services are cost-effective, time efficient, and a powerful tool in conflict management within the communities. LEDRS specializes in providing services that will benefit these communities in a facilitative approach that will be able to expose to a first generation of people the understanding and the benefits of dispute resolution.
