I am a single female small business owner. My company, Party Fairy LLC, trains, costumes, and schedules performers for children’s birthday parties and events, and we’ve been very successful prior to this quarter. In November 2019, I leased my first commercial business space. I am the sole owner of this business, which employs over a dozen young performers, ages 17-30.
2019 was my most successful year so far. But as of March, the Covid-19 pandemic has put my business services to a complete halt. As a company that provides services to both private parties and public events, the coronavirus has been financially devastating.
I fear the impact this will have on the future of my business. I fear that gatherings and parties will be strongly discouraged, even as other businesses reopen and social distancing guidelines are loosened. Traditionally, we have been dependent on an annual spike in seasonal summer business, due to our proximity to Jersey Shore amusements. And now that the coronavirus projections are negatively impacting our community’s summer plans, I fear that my business will not survive without assistance such as this.
