Our goal is to help people be healthier, while supporting their community and the planet. Smoothies are great, but can be inconvenient, and wasteful. Orchard Smoothies changes all that.  

About 8 months ago I packed up my life and drove down to Austin from Philadelphia and took a chance at a new life. This is my first time living alone and it astounded me how much trash accumulated in such a small amount of time. I’m a big foodie, so being new to Austin I am constantly bombarded with food and drinks at every turn. I found myself eating out more than I should and neglecting my kitchen at home, for either convenience reasons or pure laziness. How could I cut down on my waste but maintain that Austin lifestyle I love so dearly? Orchard Smoothies became the solution I didn’t know I needed. It combines the ease of delivery with healthy and waste free alternatives. The best part is I don’t have to take out my trash as often.

How does Orchard Smoothies work? 

Easy peasy.

Step 1: Order online. Subscriptions or one-offs. Free delivery in our service areas. 

Step 2: Kits delivered to your door in glass jars, packed in insulated, reusable bags. 

Step 3: Didn't we tell you already - just blend n' slurp!! 

Step 4: Put containers back out on the next delivery day. 

Step 5: Keep blendin', keep slurpin'.  

Our recipes include nutritious, locally grown fresh fruits and veggies as well as boosts to keep you focused, energized and healthy. Delivered in zero-waste, reusable jars.

Why Orchard Smoothies are better?

This is not your who-cares-about-the-planet type of smoothie. We are the greener and better alternative to services like Daily Harvest, smoothie bars or even making your own smoothies.  

Mainstream smoothie companies and even your everyday grocery store produce is sourced from around the world. The fruits and vegetables can sit in cold storage for up to 11 months - ending up losing nutritional value and taste. Ingredients in our kits are sourced from Texas (with some exceptions) and are never frozen so you are guaranteed freshness and high nutritional value.

Flavors

Our smoothies are created collaboratively by chefs, nutritionists, local produce experts and slurpers like you! What makes our smoothies even more special are the boosts made up of medicinal herbs from around the world, and vegan protein powders - designed to enhance flavor and nutritional value. 

Our single serve kits are $7.99 per 16oz smoothie. Daily Harvest single serve kits are $7.99 per 8oz smoothie. Their smoothies are DOUBLE the price. What you are paying for are the ice-packs, the wasteful packaging and the long distance travel. Save the money and buy yourself a trip to a cool place :)

Purely Energizing: A burst of Texas grown apples are combined with other fresh ingredients to give you an energetic, nutrient filled start to the day. The aswagandha herb is known for fortifying adrenal functions and helping modulate stress levels.

Ingredients: Apples*, organic lemon juice*, organic celery, organic kale*, organic cucumber*, aswagandha herb and hemp protein.

Recommended liquid bases: Water, coconut water, milk, any nut milk

Things That Matter to Us 

Without supporting rural communities and their farmers, city life would look very different. With more and more people moving to cities, the demand for food and other goods is skyrocketing. The farmers we source our fruits and veggies from are right here in Texas, we bring their harvest to you in a way that makes your life easier and their business possible. 

Our glass jars come in 32oz and 16oz portions and are consistently reused throughout our smoothie kit process. 

In a world where single-use packaging is everywhere, we believe Orchard Smoothies has potential for real impact. There will be as much plastic waste in the oceans as there are fish, by 2050. Not what we want those fishies to be slurpin' on! 

Tested, and Ready to Roll 

We have already been testing the concept in partnership with Lettuce (a zero-waste meal kit delivery service). Here’s some feedback we’ve received: 

We put all this feedback and more into a blender, slurped it all down, and the result is this final Orchard Smoothies experience.

With your contributions we can make zero waste the new norm not only in Austin but communities all over. The environment needs all the help it can get, so the little things add up. We believe that small changes equals collective impact. One smoothie kit at a time. 

Operationally speaking, powered by our technology partner, Loconomy, we will use Lettuce's operational infrastructure and delivery network to create and deliver our kits to customers - further reducing wasteful use of resources and helping make our business model more robust.

An operations team that works very hard to perfect your kits and get deliveries out on time. And a support team ready to answer your questions or address issues. 

The appeal of smoothies for me is that there is a smoothie for everyone, and that reflects your experience here in Austin. You're consuming something that isn’t a big brand, isn’t a ploy for money or your data but something that aims to provide you with a food experience that won’t leave you guessing.
