Project Description
- What is the mission of your company or project? It is my mission to build affordable programs and workshops that build self esteem, emotional intelligence and financial literacy for those who suffer daily from lack of resources to address these critical issues in our society
- Describe the problem you are solving. I am helping solve the problems of low self esteem, poor emotional intelligence and low overall quality of life. I am raising abuse prevention awareness and making a valiant effort to attack abuse at it's root.
- What is the market size/opportunity? Almost 90 percent of the people I have ever met and know personally, have experienced or witnessed some type of abuse.
- What is your company/product about and how does it solve the problem? As I learned to cope, with my own sexual abuse, depression and PTSD, I developed lots of hobbies that seemed to help with the pain. Eventually, these hobbies became vital pieces of my company and my coping mechanisms evolved into tangible tools for others like me. I plan to use the exercises from my self improvement journal to build the infrastructure of these programs and workshops. All aspects will be designed around creating healthy outlets for people before they end up a victim. The programs and workshops will be formulated to prevent abuse, not just provide resources for those who have already suffered through it.
- Why are you seeking funding and how will you spend the funding? I am seeking funding because I have gone as far as I can on my own and I would like to go as far as I can without having to seek out investors and give up equity.
- Who is on your team? Right now, it is just me doing all the work for my brand.

- Do you have to be a certain age to use your products and services? No! These tools can help anyone who is able to say and understand a complete sentence.
- If you have already been abused how does this help? It can help make sure you are much less likely to end up in another abusive situation. It can also help inspire you to remove yourself from an abusive situation.
- How do I know if I need your products and services? If you feel like you want and/or need to improve your quality of life in any way, my products and services can help you.
- Will it cost me a lot of money? No, all my products are very affordable. The one on one services are a bit more expensive however, the investment you make in yourself when you hire me, is worth every penny!
- Will I get my money back if it doesn't work? I am always open to a fair refund of my products. My services are however, not a "fix-a-flat" situation. The effectiveness of my personal coaching and guidance is based solely on the client's willingness to fully participate in the exercises assigned. If you've done the proven work and still not achieved the results promised for your personal coaching, a refund whether partial or whole will be discussed and applied.
I am in the process of writing a book about my daughter AnNuwr who passed away from cancer. She only lived to the tender age of 12 and almost exactly 1 month from her 13th birthday, she took her last breath. It was a year and a half long battle with chemo and more.
AnNuwr touched so many lives in her brief time on this planet. I am honoring her life with my brand and this book. No one knew what to do for me in this situation and even though I was surrounded by love, I felt alone. This book however is not about my loneliness or my struggle. This book is about AnNuwr, which means The Light in Arabic and how she served as the light in the lives of all who were graced with her presence. She in fact knew the meaning of her name and considered herself such a delight that she decided to nickname herself DaLight. 15 years after her passing, DaLightHouse LLC was born and her inspirational story will be shared with the world with this book.
It is my hope that is serves as hope, inspiration and motivation for anyone fighting for their life in any way. I hope it helps us all focus on and appreciate the importance and power of now.

I share my story of anguish, depression, pain and how I survived it all and learned to thrive through my connection to best self and God. I used what I learned about God, life and myself to overcome the many difficulties life often ushers in. My wish is that my story helps save someone else from becoming a victim and/or a victimizer.
I wrote my memoir because I think it's of the utmost importance that we find and keep our voice. This is a story of a woman who made it through many obstacles and grew to love every part of her story including the painful ones. What didn't kill me I allowed to be fuel to make me stronger. I want my memoir to help do the same for others.
"Sessions 4 DaSoul : 7 Steps 2 Wellness" is a self Improvement Journal inspired by my experiences and created for my personal success as well as the success of any who choose to enhance their life in the best ways.
The cover art is by my daughter AnNuwr who passed away from cancer when she was 12 years old. She drew this when she was 6. She was also molested despite my best efforts. In honor of her life, I improved my own and created my self improvement journal to help others do the same.

After my daughter passed away, I gave birth to 3 strong sons. One of my son's drew the art of his in my book at age 6. That is the same age my daughter was when she drew the cover art for my self improvement journal. Since as far back as I can remember, I loved to write and I especially love to write poetry. This book is a collection of poetry that I have been able to hold onto over the years. I have written thousands of poems and these are the survivors and thriving poems in my life. It is my hope that these poems help someone have and/or create a healthy outlet for their pain and trauma like it has been for mine.
A book of drawn sermons over the years of the life of the Late Great Mrs. Calestine Young. A beautiful mixture of art and scripture you will not want to miss out on. Explore and pick a favorite scripture and drawing for yourself!
I have never been really religious however, my mother was a devout Christian her entire life. From a very young age, I remember being in church with her, not wanting to be there but completely enjoying how she created art from the pastor's sermons. As I grew and matured through my pain and trauma in life I realized how powerful her faith was. Even though I am still not religious, I know God in my life and I learned to take the best parts of what my mother gave me as a religious woman and live to love myself and God. It is my hope that someone who needs inspiration or motivation or just help keeping their faith can find some or all of what they need and want in this book.
