  Who are we?

NKHenry is a brand of women's handbags, accessories and  small batch capsule clothing collections for women who love the Casual. City. Chic style!

NKHenry was born in 2009 with the idea of making timeless handbags that would transition effortlessly from season to season. The small, debut collection was produced overseas, but the process of doing this was very complex and overwhelming.

Designer Nikki Henry explains "A friend suggested to me that I learn to sew to at least make my own samples and then work with local contractors for production. BINGO! The decision to follow that advice helped to develop the NKHenry brand. Fast forward to 2018 and I still hand make my own samples in my little studio and work with local contractors in Philadelphia and New Jersey to produce my brand. I am proud to be MADE IN THE USA! Our products are made with luxurious textiles like leather, suede and faux fur as well as preppy mainstays like canvas and denim".

NKHenry products are produced in small batches, following the "lean manufacturing model".

For the seasonal collections, once the products sell out, their gone. NKHenry has a permanent collection -pieces are items that are "bestsellers" and popular items that are offered year round, like the Kelley clutch and the Jesse hobo.

NKHenry has been featured on numerous fashion blogs including About.com and Handbagreport.com. We currently sell our products on nkhenry.com as well as Etsy and Amazon Handmade.

Why are we raising funds?

Our goal is to move the NKHenry brand into brick and mortar stores so that we can grow in brand recognition and ultimately sales. Traditional leases can be risky for small brands like ours, this just doesn't fit into our "lean" business model at this time. We want to take advantage of having our products sold directly to the public via pop up shops.

                                                        The Opportunity

NKHenry has been invited to participate in the Macy's Pop up Market.

This new retail model is featured in Macy's stores through out the country and is curated to feature select emerging and independent fashion brands in separate booth/stalls.

In addition, we plan to host our own local Pop-Up shop in the Philadelphia area to get our brand out to the public.

Having our products in retail stores gives our customer an opportunity to  experience our brand IRL in a robust way. Pop up shops provide a cost effective opportunity for small brands like ours! We have sourced empty retail spaces in the Philadelphia area. We have settled on a specific space in the Manayunk area, but due to the nature of renting pop ups , we are in talks with multiple commercial space realtors as a back up. Utilizing vacant retail space helps to eliminate the eye sore of empty storefronts. We plan to create a fun, festive shopping experience for our customers!

How will we use the funds?

Your contribution will fund:

The participation fee to join the pop up at Macy's Pop up Market and the lease fees for our Philadelphia pop up. We expect the Philadelphia pop up to run 1-2 months. In addition, it will fund the purchase of fabrics/materials and production costs to stock for both events.

Our Macy's Pop up will feature a selection of our latest styles like the MAX belt bag as well as Permanent collection favorites like our the Jesse hobo and the Kelley clutch. Our Philadelphia pop up will feature a selection of all our products available at nkhenry.com.

                                                             Our Founder

                                                     Nikki Henry, Designer and Owner of NKHenry

Nikki's career background began in social work and she worked with women and children in underprivileged communities while building the NKHenry brand. She continues to give back by donating a portion of sales from NKHenry trunk shows to organizations that serve these communities.

Her initial entry into the creative industry was through photography after being encouraged by friends who noticed that she had an "eye" for taking great photos. She went on to shoot numerous weddings, both nationally and destination and her work was featured in a nationally published photography magazine. Her career as a photographer laid the foundation for her foray into fashion, although she didn't seek out this career.

A fateful day would propel Nikki to explore a career in fashion after being inspired by the late designer Kate Spade. Nikki would eventually launch her first collection in 2009. Since launching NKHenry, the brand has been 100% self funded.
