“Black Kings Lifestyle” The Brand

Black Kings lifestyle is a brand created for men of color, by a woman of color. Upon inception, I noticed that the hair care market for black men was not very diverse despite the unique range and variation of their black hair, leading to both an untapped market and an underserved community. With their needs in mind, I began working on a product that could service this special hair niche.

 After two years of continuous research, I launched my first official product “Black Kings Beard and Hair Balm”. A growth balm formulated with natural ingredients, carefully selected for the healing and nourishing effects they have on black hair.

Meet The Owner

I am Faye Harris, a 32-year-old Barbadian native who is no stranger to the Hair Care Industry. I have a Diploma in both Cosmetology and Aesthetics as well as my BA in Psychology. My passion has always been helping people which is why I ventured into both disciplines. With an understanding that anyone in the Cosmetology industry can double as a Psychologist I set out to use this powerful duo to help people look and feel good in a unique way.

In assisting to encourage and uplift young black men to strive for greatness while volunteering for Boy scouts of America and dedicating my time as youth advisor for a teen boys football team in Barbados, I continued to witness them struggle deeply with their image both personally and globally which inspired me to want to do more. 

For centuries, black men were fed the false narrative that being a man meant being callous and cold or having a self-care routine is deemed feminine and men’s upkeep has been diminished to all in one shampoos, conditioners and body wash. By creating products that address the unique needs of black men and their large assortment of hair textures I strive to make beauty inclusive for everyone especially black men.

With this brand I intend to show black men that self-love and expression is the embodiment of a strong black man. Loving the skin you are in and understanding that healthy and happy are the most beautiful qualities of a man.

Currently, our products are sold in Barbados and the United States but our plan for the future is to make the products available to black men worldwide.
