Project Description

This campaign was an earnest attempt at creating an ethical coffee shop in our community while businesses were forced to close during the covid shutdown. We appreciate the friends who believed in us and supported our boot strap efforts to fundraise. With the rising costs of inflation in the gentrified nashville market, we were priced out of our building and didn't raise enough funds to be able to complete our goals. We have watched dozens of our local community small businesses close their doors due to the recession, and we are lucky to not have been locked into a lease agreement through this transitional time. We have had to pivot, while we are locally supporting our community members through the fundraising we were able to accomplish. We will continue to chase this dream in a more recession-proof way in the years to follow. Thank you for believing in us!

Decolonizing Fair Trade Coffee

100% organic, fair trade certified, shade-grown and harvested by Native Maya farmers using ancient regenerative farming techniques that heal the earth. By establishing this collaboration, we are creating a harmonious cycle of renewed hope and solidarity between the general American consumer, the Earth, and its Indigenous peoples.

Encouraging Environmental Sustainability

Ethical and socially conscious, we’re implementing actionable habitual efforts in-house like composting, recycling and eco-friendly processes. Each bag of coffee comes in 100% compostable, shelf-stable packaging.

Proceeds from each coffee purchase contributes towards social justice for Indigenous people by means of:

  • Honoring and healing the earth
  • Self-sufficiency and political independence
  • Sustainable development of rural communities
  • Child welfare, including education & nutrition
  • Defense of indigenous cultural identity
  • Education in organic agriculture
