What is a Blind Diva?
She empowers other vision impaired and blind people to tap into their strengths, discovers areas in their lives in need of change, and most of all does it in style ♥
Why We're Fundraising:
Our pageant contestants all have significant vision loss, ranging from legally blind to deaf-blind. The young women are active members of their communities: working, studying, raising kids, and contributing toward social welfare. Our goal is to provide the Ms. Blind Diva pageant winner and runners up assistive technology called OrCam. The OrCam device converts vital visual information into audio thru an intuitive camera worn on eyeglasses. By speaking what it sees this life changing technology empowers the wearer by giving independence in daily activities. Reading, cooking, shopping, transportation, dressing and navigating the world are easier with OrCam. Our contestants are all from NJ except 1 from sunny Florida, who's has been traveling to NJ to participate in our pre-pageant events ♥

What's in it for you?
Knowing your generosity positively impacts the life of vibrant young women with vision loss ♥
Each gift brings us closer to DIRECTLY impacting the life of another, immediately and continuously making the world more ACCESSIBLE to them ♥
Each device costs between $2500-$3500. Our goal is to provide 3-4 devices to our participants. Unfortunately, those with no hearing aren't eligible, because they won't hear what the camera is speaking.
