MODEFYwear Defying the Odds

MODEFYwear is an apparel brand that designs athletic garments and swimwear for women who dress modestly and need more coverage in their activewear. We are the ONLY brand that designs for both Muslim AND Jewish women by ensuring that we meet the modesty protocols for both religions (coverings required for the knees, elbows, collarbones, and head). We also meet the clothing needs for Pentecostal and Mormon women as well as those who desire more coverage such as sun protection. We pride ourselves in being design trailblazers. To date, we have designed the world's first athletic hijab for the digital era and our surf dress was the first to offer full modesty for female surfers. 

Prior to MODEFYwear, athletes who dressed modestly had no other option but to train in clothing that were not designed for constant movement and sweat absorption.  The big brands weren't designing performance-wear to meet their needs. When MODEFYwear entered the apparel industry, we immediately got to work designing apparel with the best performance fabrics that would show off the athlete's skills, not their skin. This has been our mission from day one, and we will continue to make it possible for all women to participate in sports regardless of their religions or cultural background.  

To better engage on a more personal level with our customers, we opened a store in Los Angeles. Our store is a welcoming and safe place for women to come together to do more than shop. We offer opportunities to register for athletic competitions, to hear from a wide variety of modestly dressed athletes from many different sports who have defied the odds and are breaking barriers in their fields, and to speak with nutritionists and coaches who we schedule to come in and offer their services to our customers. 

Our IFundWomen campaign is to offer the following:

• to sponsor 10 women and girls to participate in competitions in their chosen sports. For the girls who will be on a school team or recreational team, they will need to have their uniform/apparel be in school/team colors and we will ensure that their garments from head to toe will meet all the rules and regulations set forth. For those who will be in individual athletic events such as swimming and running competitions, we will provide them with MODEFYwear garments from head to toe so they can compete safely without sacrificing style and function.
• we will take MODEFYwear on the road in 2021-2022 to Cleveland, Dallas, New York/New Jersey, and Detroit, where there are large populations of Muslim and Jewish women and girls. We are committed to working with the schools to safeguard ALL female athletes, including the modest ones who wear head coverings and/or full-body coverage to make certain they have approved-apparel for participating in any sport without prejudice or other obstacles.
• continue to highlight a healthy lifestyle to our community-at-large in Los Angeles with a robust calendar of events at our store featuring Olympians, elite coaches, and trainers in 2021-2022.
