Prioritize Mental Health Education In Institutions
Like CPR for mental health... Everyone should be trained in mental health on the same level as physical health!

Project Description

MISSION
Our mission is to help others prioritize mental health on the same level as physical health. After we both lost a loved one to suicide, we realized our institutions are lacking mental health education. In order to help combat the issue of mental health issues going unnoticed and untreated, we created Mental Health Intervention Training, which teaches participants how to identify mental health issues, support those who are struggling, and initiate personal self-help and coping strategies into their life. The training improves responses to mental health, as well as decreases stress and increases productivity. We have trained 1,500 participants to date! Our expansion plan is to create a digital platform, so we can help more people, efficiently.
THE PROBLEM
Even before covid-19, we were experiencing a mental health crisis! Suicide rates are steadily increasing, and anxiety and depression are at an all-time high. People need help now, and saving lives is non-negotiable. Mental Health must be normalized in order for individuals to seek the mental health treatment that they need.
THE SOLUTION
We are focused on training as many organizations and individuals as possible. We are writing a bill to mandate mental health training and education, in the same way that sexual harassment training is a requirement. Every leader, teacher, employer, and human should know how to respond to mental health issues. Education helps break down stigma, and encourages mental healthcare and treatment. If mental health training is a "right of passage" in our society, we can decrease suicide rates and improve mental health in general.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are seeking funding to scale our training and to help more people. We will use the funds for:
- Legal, grant-writing, advocacy, legislation
- Sales and client outreach
- Marketing
- International accreditation / HIPPA compliance
- Future tech expansion plan
OUR TEAM
- Juliet Meskers : Co-Founder & CEO
- Kelly Marzoli : Co-Founder & COO
- We have a strong advisory team of renowned professionals, psychiatrists, and psychologists who support our efforts.

Why is mental health education important?
Mental health problems are common. We lack mental health education in our school systems. A lack of information leads to a stigmatizing culture. People with mental health problems often do not seek help. Professional help is not always on hands. People often don’t know how to respond to a mental health crisis.
Will this eventually be made available to the general public?
Yes, right now our services are B2B so we can reach the maximum communities, efficiently. eventually, after we receive feedback on the product from our beta testing clients and find the best way to cater our services to individuals, we will make our app available to the public.
How can I get trained?
We still hold public trainings on video-conferencing 1-2 times a month. Sign up for a training at this link https://www.mhgn.org/livetraining or plan your own training and set up a consultation at calendly.com/mhgn
