Straightforward, sensible and unapologetic, maji is a premium wellness brand that champions green beauty, environmental conservation and foster growth in local organizations throughout Africa.
Meaning water in Swahili, the mission of the brand and intent of our products to restore balance to undernourished skin. With efficacy and hydration in mind, maji focuses on addressing specific skin concerns such as aging and hyper-pigmentation using highly potent botanical extracts.
Maji is ready to take on the clean beauty market. Some goals for the brand for 2019 and beyond are:
- conducting viable research for cutting-edge ingredients, sustainability, packaging and waste reduction
- using bio-dynamic farming techniques to yield the best quality ingredients for clients
- building a dedicated and resilient team of clinicians, aromatherapists, chemists and experts
- rigorously testing products for integrity and upholding standards set by environmental organizations
- creating innovative content via advertising and social media to introduce maji to a larger audience
- build relationships with PR and retail buyers for bespoke and high-end markets
- establish unconventional storefronts and spa locations to give a more enhanced client experience

Maji is accessible to beauty-forward women around the world.
As of now, I hand-make the products for samples and testing. By giving to my campaign, you will help to propel my vision forward and kick-start the growth of the brand. I consider myself a skincare and wellness junkie, having tested thousands of products over the years. What are you most excited about launching maji?
I envision a vibrant and thriving future for maji. The trajectory of the brand and the larger beauty market is moving to a sustainable future, which is amazing! Being able to share my ideas to the world and help those who are less fortunate is the very ethos of the brand.
What are the first steps that you will take after securing funding?
R&D! I have been working on my formulations for a while, but it would be more assuring to collaborate with a cosmetic chemist, dermatologists and other experts to really make maji a reality. The research will not only be for the best botanical ingredients, but it will be for the most efficient packaging that is sustainable and champions the environment.
What does biodynamic mean to you?
To me, biodynamic simply means being more than organic. Biodynamic farming is a shift in thought; everything is considered and farming is viewed holistically, from the worms to the crop. As an entrepreneur, I do my best to ensure that all the botanics are from exceptional sources.
