Our Mission:

To foster Self-Love in our communities and promote POSITIVE self-care with #nontoxic facial care and practices. LYC is ground by nature and inspired by Africa.  

Connecting The beauty rituals of Africa were passed on from generation to generation.  so, we can take advantage of them and use that knowledge to pamper our skin, so it remains healthy and nourished and glows from inside out. Some of our key ingredients (Moringa, shea butter, hibiscus, neem oil, and Rhassoul clay.)

Educating:our tribe on incorporating natural and nontoxic products into their daily living is soo important. 75% of products marketed to Black women scored are considered to have potentially hazardous ingredients.  Potential hazards linked to product ingredients include cancer, hormone disruption, developmental and reproductive damage, allergies and other adverse health effects.

Transforming: Healing the skin is at the top of our priority list.  Our tribe deals with issues such as dry, dehydrated, hyperpigmented, and eczema-prone skin.  We incorporate soothing ingredients such as calendula to calm the skin. Transformative ingredients songyi mushroom and kojic acid to combat the appearance of hyperpigmentation. Lastly, we use ingredients such as water boosting hyaluronic acid and hydrating aloe.  

Campaign Goals + Team + Our Future
 

Our Goal is to raise $10,000 for our campaign. These donations will be segmented into two categories:

Production + Service Space $5,000:

The service and production space will be an area that can assist in the smooth and most hygienic atmosphere possible. The production area will hold all the supplies and ingredients in the appropriate environments including proper temperature. This Space will also contain an area to provide facials treatments and consultations services. The funds will cover a portion of the rent of the space along with essential supplies and equipment. 

Vending + Marketing $5,000: 

Vending- acquire 60% of these funds. This will allow the brand to secure vending slots in larger events (locally and out of town) that can increase sales, revenue, and target audience reach. Marketing will receive the remaining 40% of the funds allocated to this area.  These funds will be used to hire micro-influencers and concurrent social media ads.

The Team: 

Our team consists of 3 professional freelancers. These professionals all have businesses in the areas where they assist the brand.  We have attained a graphic artist, professional photographer, and Certified CPA. In summer 2020 we will hire a social media + and outreach fellow. This individual will post planned approved social media content. The outreach component of this position will require the fellow to reach out to estheticians on social media and via email to educate them on the back bar/professional subscription and retailing in their spas. 

Our Future 

The goals attached to this campaign will assist in the brand's ability to reach our 2-5-year goals for the following areas:

• 2 years- Entrepreneurial development + Expansion of future skincare space. The expansion will consist of a place with 3 rooms and a reception area. Our founder will focus 100% on production and retailing and you the reception area and one of the rooms to conduct this work. The other two rooms will be rented to two estheticians for a 1-year lease at a reasonable rate that allows the individuals to grow and develop.  Chimere will provide weekly mentoring with these specialists to ensure that they are growing as an esthetician and profitability wise.
• 3-5 Years a recycling program to collect used facial care product containers.  We will collect containers from all brands customers will receive a discount for the recyclables. By this time the brand will be using mostly glass containers and can return our containers to be sterilized and reused. They will also receive a discount as well.
