My mission at Galloping Stars is to provide the highest quality training for horses in film, live shows, and battle reenactments, while also promoting gender equality in historical representation and prioritising animal welfare. As a female jouster and Chairwoman of 'Destrier', I am dedicated to championing women in this male-dominated industry, and providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. With a deep understanding of horse behaviour and a commitment to animal welfare, I work one-on-one with my horses to bring out their best performance, creating unforgettable moments for audiences. Many venues here in the UK don't allow women to compete, or to joust under a female name. I believe this needs to change! 

The entertainment industry is in constant need of trained horses for various productions, but not all trainers prioritise animal welfare or create a safe and comfortable environment for the horses. I rescue my horses, taking them from places of abuse or neglect and giving them a fresh start. I find that with time and care, these horses prove to be incredible performers in shows and onscreen, as well as lovable friends! I have been training horses for the last 20 years, learning from expert horse-people such as Monty Roberts and Kelly Marks who prioritise a happy horse that loves their work and thrives in the process of training. 

As one of the first female 'Knights' to joust competitively in the UK, and the first female Chairwoman of the competitive Jousting group 'Destrier' I champion women in historical representation. As someone who has had to brake through gender barriers in the historical stunt world in order to take part and is actively working to promote gender equality in historical representation, I am dedicated to supporting women in a male-dominated industry.  I wish to pave the way for other women to pursue their passions in this field, actively seeking out opportunities to mentor and support women in jousting and battle riding, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. 

We are seeking funding to expand our facilities as well as acquire 2 additional horses. I rescue my horses, giving them a new start in life and putting the time in to rehabilitate them. As such I don't have an initial outlay for the horses, but the upkeep of horses is substantial costing between £500-£1000 to support one horse each month.  Rehoming new horses in need relies on renting additional field space. 2 of our beloved horse team recently had to retire from their work due to illness. Our horses are like members of the family, and we will continue to provide a happy home for them to the end of their days whether they are in work or not, but unfortunately with 2 horses out of work financially we need to add to the horse family in order to keep the business sustainable. 

It is my dream to provide a working team of happy horses that tour the UK with shows and film work, carrying female riders and jousters on their backs and championing women into a level of equality that is long overdue in historical venues and films. Thank you for believing in my vision :)
