COVID-19 has exposed a mental health crisis. Over 50% of people feel stressed and anxious on a daily basis, and 1 in 3 people feel lonely on a regular basis. Majority of these people report not knowing how to solve this problem - there is a gap for accessible resources to support mental wellbeing. The existing options:
1. Physical fitness focused studios that feel unapproachable and physical body focused
2. At home workouts that prioritize physical fitness and lack meaningful community connection
3. Meditation apps that lack accountability and community
We created the first mental fitness studio! Liberate focuses on proactive mental fitness through a proven Method. We lead approachable and accessible virtual classes with built-in accountability. Participants in our programs report on average feeling 42% stronger across five skills of presence, courage, gratitude, pride, and resilience. Most importantly, we prioritize community with meaningful human interaction.
Every human is invited to join us - all you need is a body and an open mind.
Our 30 and 60 minute classes are held over Zoom, and practice a flow of movement, journaling, conversation, and meditation to empower participants to proactively strengthen wellbeing and become their best selves. Just like a physical fitness workout, there are challenging moments and participants leave feeling stronger and better for it.
Every class flows around a mindful theme that represents a skill to strengthen: presence, courage, gratitude, pride, and resilience.
May is National Mental Health Awareness Month, the time of year where mental health is most talked about and explored on an individual and team level. In our industry, we have to be part of the conversation in May in order to build awareness and be seen as a leader in the mental fitness space. With your support we can reach hundreds of thousands of people and spread the movement of mental fitness, becoming a meaningful resource of proactive wellness for all human beings.
Liv is an Upstate New Yorker turned West Coaster with a background in digital marketing, fitness, and “better for you” start-ups. As employee #1 at a promising start-up in a new city, she felt overwhelmed and alone with life experiences. As a last resort, she turned to mindfulness practices like yoga and meditation to strengthen my mental well-being and to her surprise, they actually worked! This ultimately led her to become a certified meditation and mindfulness teacher and discover her purpose to strengthen collective mental health.
While leading digital marketing at a start-up, Liv spent one year building the business plan for Liberate and decided to launch the mental fitness studio virtually when COVID-19 hit in 2020. Since then Liv has been featured in Forbes, Nasdaq, Business Insider, and more as a leading expert on mindfulness and mental fitness.
