Project Description
Background and Ultimate Goal
Prior to October 2020, most sustainable products and educational events happened in Brooklyn and Manhattan. COVID-19 enhanced our founder's awareness of the lack of accessibility for Bronx residents trying to maintain a sustainable lifestyle which led to the creation of EcoBronx LLC.
EcoBronx's ultimate goal is to be an eco-space for all Bronx residents to increase their knowledge of and access to sustainable and refillable products. The retail aspect of the space will focus on retailing sustainable/refillable/package-free products and food items from predominantly local makers to reduce carbon emissions. The educational aspect will include workshops such as making your own cleanser, why the need to reduce plastic usage, and basic mending sessions. It is intended to be a social enterprise business dedicating a specific percentage of the business profits back into local community initiatives focused sustainability projects and providing services to assist in the community's reduction of items going to landfills.
It is envisioned that the Bronx eco-space will launch over the course of 3 key phases.
- Phase I: Pop-Up Style Workshops and Retail Opportunities (Current)
- Phase II: Opening of Permanent Location with refillable items
- Phase III: Addition of non-refillable food items and landfill prevention services
Why the Campaign
EcoBronx LLC has achieved a few milestones in it's first 8 months of operation which include being weekly at local Fall/Winter farmer's markets, semi-finalizing our LLC state paperwork, and our newest announcement of shipping to United States residents.
EcoBronx is ready to embark on a new aspect of it's Phase 1 goals - call it Phase 1b. EcoBronx will be a weekly vendor in local farmer's markets (will announce the market details once finalized), wants to start providing some refillable products, and begin the process of becoming a mobile shop. Our owner started the business to reduce the lack of accessibility for Bronx residents to purchase sustainable products, but not everyone can come to our pop-up events. Being a mobile shop will take EcoBronx to the community versus the community coming to EcoBronx. It will also allow us to gain consistent customers which makes it more financially feasible to be a brick-n-mortar (Phase 2).
The Let's Get EcoBronx Mobile campaign is focused on raising enough money to assist with
- Our farmer's market setup - tent, new tables, and transportation until get vehicle
- Initial costs to provide refillable products - scale, new kiosk/payment reader, initial refillable products
- Purchase a vehicle to convert into our mobile shop
Our Team
EcoBronx LLC wouldn't be here without the support of our current customers, friends, and fellow advocates for Mother Earth. Our owner/founder is Maranda L. Miller whom relocated to Bronx in 2015 from Kentucky with her two children (whom help with business tasks).

Can I contribute to your crowdfunding campaign from outside the US?
You can contribute to our campaign from over 100 countries! If PayPal works in your country, you can contribute.
Can I contribute anonymously to your crowdfunding campaign?
Yes, you can create an anonymous guest account on IFW to contribute to our campaign. You’ll still have to provide your payment information of course, but we never see that. IFW & PayPal process your payment, not us.
I’m trying to support your campaign, but my payment isn’t going through.

Is my financial information safe?
Yes! EcoBronx LLC does not see any of your financial information, and IFW does not store your financial information. Your payment is processed directly through PayPal, one of the world’s leading payment processing companies.
Is there another way I can support EcoBronx LLC besides this campaign?
Of course! We can also accept contributions by cash or check. You can donate material goods as listed on our campaign page, or purchase our products. For free ways to support us - you can connect us with a new stockist, share our crowdfunding campaign on your social media, or tell your earth-conscious friends about us!
