The Just Sip It mission is to bring an amazing wine tasting experience into your home eliminating costly travel and allowing you to learn about wine on your own terms.
Just Sip It is a 100% female, Veteran, and Latina owned small business. Both owners share a passion for working with charitable organizations that focus efforts on veterans, animals, children, and the Latino community.
Just Sip It is an app that allows users to order wine from small family-owned wineries, invite their friends, split the cost with their guests and host a tasting in their home as if they are in the tasting room, with the help of tasting videos made by the winemaker and staff from the winery itself.
Here's the problem: Traveling to wine country can be costly, not to mention finding the right wineries or just the limited time people have while there to taste wines from amazing vineyards. Additionally, small, family-owned wineries don’t have the ability to distribute nationally.

Just Sip It solves this problem by providing a solution that:
1. It eliminates the need to travel in order to have the tasting room experience and provides an option to split the cost of the wines.
2. Provides a selection of family-owned, small production wineries with amazing high-quality wines.
3. Creates a marketing tool through which small family-owned wineries can further their audience across the country.
Our customers are two-fold. On one side they are people who love wine, love the convenience of what the app can offer them, want to learn more about wine and try new things, and don’t want to deal with a sales pitch every time. This app is heavily targeted to millennials, who currently account for 52% of the nation’s wine sales.
On the other side - the wineries we serve are also our customers. By allowing Just Sip It to partner with them to sell their wine, we provide a service extending an amazing customer service experience to their customers and providing a marketing outlet at an extremely minimal cost.
The Just Sip It team brings a combined 40 years of leadership, marketing, PR, and business management experience combined from private enterprise to Farmers Insurance. As avid wine lovers, we have an appreciation and understanding of what it means to taste and learn about truly unique, hand-crafted wines, the cost involved in travel, and the expense involved in marketing.
Carrie Bonney is the Creator, CEO, Head of Research and Development, and co-owner of Just Sip It. A U.S. Army Military Police veteran, Carrie is passionate about leadership, creativity and growth. Carrie is a seasoned leader who has worked for a Fortune 500 company as well as managing and running multiple small businesses. Her career spans more than 20 years from the military, private law enforcement, communications, corporate giving, public relations, and the wine industry. Carrie has traveled extensively, learning and growing her wine knowledge throughout the world. Her number one goal is to share those experiences and the amazing wines she has had with others.
Luisa Acosta is the Vice-President, Head of Marketing, and co-owner of Just Sip It. She is a seasoned corporate executive who worked for a Fortune 500 company as well as held leadership roles in the public sector and has a successful track record in the areas of marketing, brand development, communications, government affairs, media, and community relations and business development. Her career of more than 20 years spans from TV news, politics, corporate America and entrepreneurship. She is always leveraging her networking and communication skills to build relationships, programs, and successful businesses.
Luisa has a proven track record for successfully growing brand awareness and consideration through effective messaging/story-telling, creative and authentic advertising, and innovative experiences that are always culturally relevant to the target audiences.
She has expertise in growing brands among multicultural audiences and other key target markets such as veterans and entrepreneurs.
Her passion for non-profit work, Latino culture, women’s empowerment, children’s causes, and youth mentorship are where most of her volunteer and financial efforts are focused.
Why are we seeking funding? The same reason as most, we are starting this small business and without two years of financials and amazing credit, we can’t qualify for a Small Business loan from the SBA. We could take out loans, but we don’t want to end up paying hand over fist to just get ourselves up and running. We are confident that this business will thrive and grow, probably faster than anyone can imagine. Once we are running, we predict that we will be fully self-sustainable and able to move forward with additional options, upgrades, and eventually international sales.
