Project Description

Jikoni is a digital media company that specializes in video production of food and lifestyle content and is based in Los Angeles, California. Their headquarters is also home to Jikoni Studios, an on-site video production studio where 3 fully operational kitchen sets can be rented for photo or video shoots.
In Swahili, Jikoni means kitchen. At our core, that’s what we are; a space to cook, to create, to share.
Our mission is to make sharing recipes easier than ever— welcoming to anyone and everyone with a WiFi connection, a few pots and pans, and a willingness to forge new relationships and communities through food.
We strive for Jikoni to be a space where cooks of all cultural backgrounds can share their recipes with a community that was hungry for it.
Jikoni aims to make global recipes more informative, more accessible, and more collaborative than ever before. We are building a community-based digital media company that is a space where home cooks and enthusiasts alike can celebrate and highlight the cuisines that have been under-represented in the culinary field and supports those with a passion for sharing their recipes by forging new relationships and communities through food. Jikoni aims to provide cooks of all cultural backgrounds a space where they are represented — regardless of current trends or potential to go 'viral’.
With the emerging creator economy, we are creating a digital media space where community members can contribute their own recipes. In order to support those passionate home cooks, we produce a variety of how-to content from food photography and videography to instructional recipe-writing skills. They often feature collaborators, food influencers, experts, or chefs, that provide specialist insight into educational content.
With very few direct competitors and rising social awareness of underrepresented communities in food media, now is the time to engage with our services and platform. In a new social media era of individual creators over brands, interactions with these creators is more crucial than ever in the sector.
Having produced some of the internet's most viral food content that has reached billions of viewers, Jikoni’s team is both well established in the food media space, and well equipped to build a modern food media company, that leads the industry in being inclusive and collaborative as this evolving sector shifts.
