Who Are We?
Founded in 2016, The Jersey City Oddities Market is a niche marketplace event specializing in offbeat crafters, odd art, and a love for nature and biology.
What Have We Done?
To date, we have held over one dozen events, including partnerships with The Historic Harsimus Cemetery, and Liberty Science Center After Dark series.
In 2017, we were the first place winner of The Start Something Challenge- a business pitch competition hosted by Rising Tide Capital.
We are currently working with Midnight Market Events at a pop up food hall and retail experience called Garden State Public Market, located right inside the Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall. We are featuring over ten artist's work through the month of June.
Why Should You Care?
Each event hosts over fifty artists and small businesses and provides a platform for makers to reach new customer bases face to face, without the risk of high commercial space fees.
Many of the artists are considered too "strange" for typical craft fairs and markets despite the rise in popularity of "oddities". We provide a space where the obscure is not only welcomed, but encouraged.
Through personalized marketing, each artist and vendor is spotlighted across various social media platforms boosting visibility of their work and customer reach.
What's Next?
The Jersey City Oddities Market has secured a storefront space for July, 2018- and we are asking for community support to help us launch! The storefront will operate much like our events, featuring rotating work from the talented artists and crafters we have had the pleasure of working with over the last two years.
Your contributions will provide a boost in advertisement for the new location, funding for a mini docu-series highlighting the artists (produced by local full service production company Backslash Bomb), and the ability to hire staff for the store location and pop up markets!
We appreciate all of the support we have received from vendors, artists, sponsors and customers alike- and we cannot wait to bring you Jersey City's first oddities shop.
