Project Description

The public education system is broken, and it’s failing our kids, our country and our world. Status-quo western education has been geared only towards cog-in-the-wheel, employment-focused skill sets-- excluding the most crucial information.. an understanding of how to live in balance in a rapidly changing world, and because of this, humanity is now facing massive social, economic and environmental crises.

Origins Curriculum is the world's first Conscious Curriculum brand, and we are giving educators the tools and the platform they need to transform themselves, their students and the world through a desperately needed paradigm shift to pre-K through 12th grade education via both b2b and b2c SaaS products. Origins offers digital, subscription-based, interactive content that is scalable and built on a platform that is easy for educators to use and that is transformational for students.

Origins has over 11 years of in-classroom testing and has been created by a team of professionals with decades of expertise in their fields. We are the only curriculum brand of its kind, melding academics with mindfulness and eco-literacy.

We offer year-round curriculum for preschool classrooms and elementary (K-5th grade) homeschool families, conscious courses and lesson plans for kids age 3 yrs through 12th grade as well as resources for both classrooms and homeschool as well as teacher certifications!

Nature-Inspired and Research-Based, Origins Conscious Curriculum is a comprehensive and new paradigm approach to education that guides and grows a child’s connection to their emotional, social, and environmental consciousness.

We are dedicated to the whole child: mind, body and spirit. Children will develop critical-thinking skills toward solving real-world problems like climate change, while gaining confidence in their identity, meaning, and purpose. Creating the Origins Effect.

There is no denying that Humanity is currently facing an environmental, social & economic crisis and these times are calling for all of us to come back into balance with nature. We can invest billions into AI and tech and launch missions to Mars, but the best chance of ensuring humanity thrives in the future is if we can create foundations that support both individual and collective wellness, right here, right now.

What we need is to restore our understanding of the interconnectedness of everything on our Planet and a path to do this is by teaching our children how to live in balance so that we have an entire generation of healthy people who value the wise use of resourcescultural diversity, gender equality and a sense of democracy, and who have the emotional intelligence to navigate life's challenges.

In this context, educators have both a profound opportunity to transform education as well as a duty to put our vocation at the service of the collective existential questions of our time.

Please join us! We would be honored to have you help us change the world one child at a time.

Origins Curriculum collaborates to take you on an educational adventure around the globe, bringing your student enlightening content from across a wide range of topics by some of the top minds in their fields! These in-depth courses are designed to be implemented over 1-2 weeks and are designed for a wide range of ages from Preschool through 12th grade! New expanded Exploratory Courses are on the way!

1. A 57-page Exploratory Course,“What will you find in Your Cultural Reflection?,” by Aja Minor - For Grades 9th-12th

This course asks students to reflect on their lives by investigating the concept of culture. First through the lens of groups, then by comparing culture to an iceberg and investigating a few (of many) cultural dimensions. Last, students write (essay or presentation) about the impact of culture in their lives. Every aspect of our lives is connected to culture, yet few people understand how significant the role is. Understanding how culture shapes your development can help navigate your relationships with other people and with the environment.

2. A 31-page Exploratory Course,“Is Trash Always Trash?,” by Dr. Vanisa Turney: For ages 3-5 and Grades K-3rd

This unit is on the 3 R’s: reduce, reuse, and recycle and effective ways in which we can eliminate growing landfills! This course comes with video instruction and engages students in the understanding that the Earth is a living body with interconnected patterns of relationships. Students will develop an understanding that when we make healthy choices such as reusing materials we help the environment. There is a direct relationship between reusing and the benefits of the world in which we live. Reusing materials reduces the amount of waste in landfills, prevents pollution, and saves energy. When we reuse we create an environment that is good for us.

3. A 33-page Exploratory Course, "Moving With the Wind and Words," by Kathleen Marleneanu: For Grades K-5th

Learn to create your own poem and dance by playing with creative movement in the Exploratory Unit, “Moving With the Wind and Words,” by Kathleen Marleneanu. Children will learn about the wind and explore its wonder by reading and writing poetry, asking questions, and dancing! This unit will help children increase their environmental awareness and value of planet Earth. Through practicing mindful breath and movement, they will gain better control of their emotions and learn to stay calm, even when feeling tossed in the wind.

4. A 48-page Exploratory Course, "Inspiring a Love of Plants and Herbalism," by Samantha Togstad: For Ages 3-6

Children will begin to take notice of the plant life all around them with this Beginning Herbalism EU for children, “Inspiring a Love of Plants and Herbalism” by Samantha Togstad. Children will explore the foundational elements of herbalism and learn about what plants need to thrive, as well as how we can harness and use their plant power to connect to the earth and keep our bodies healthy.

5. A 38-page Exploratory Course, “Seeing Stars” by Laura Oliphant: For Ages 3-5 and Grades K-2nd

Children will explore the stars and constellations above and learn that each person has a unique perspective. Through 3 dimensional lessons, we’ll consider this history of stargazing and note the differences between our own views and the views of others. The course includes video instruction, interactive presentations, and support materials.

6. A 17-page Exploratory Course, “Animal Awareness from A-Z!” by Chris Clementi: For Grades 6th-9th

Children will explore the question 'Can Animal Awareness Lead to Preservation?.' The course includes video instruction and support materials.

According to World Atlas, scientists have managed to document 14% of living species. They speculate that the remaining 86% of species that exist have not been discovered. Researchers have been able to document 1.2 million species, yet they estimate Earth has approximately 8.7 million species. According to the article, it is difficult to estimate the exact number of species on the Earth because the rate of extinction has significantly increased over time. According to Science.org, 500 species of land-living vertebrates have disappeared in the past century. The article continues to claim that such losses would have taken 10,000 years to pass naturally. As human activities accelerate, they predict an additional 500 more vertebrate species could become extinct in the next 2 decades.

If humans are aware of what causes animals to become extinct, they are in a better position to make changes that can positively impact the sustainability of these amazing creatures. This lesson will provide students with an awareness of the vast number of amazing species in the world through exploration and research. There will be a variety of activities that will give students a greater appreciation for our unique Planet and its inhabitants and give them a greater understanding of what needs to be done in order to protect them from extinction.

7. A 43-page Exploratory Course, “Mindful Moon” by Laura Oliphant : For Ages 3-5 and Grade K-2nd

The purpose of this exploration is to discover the wonders of the moon. Students will distinguish between satellites, stars, and planets, familiarize themselves with the phases of the moon, and understand how the moon affects the earth. By reflecting on the moon's patterns, students will begin to recognize their own patterns. A practice of mindfulness can then begin.
