WHAT MY DESIGNS DO

Skavlem Designs is all about what designs can do to help businesses get started, evolve, or grow. I help small businesses and organizations that can’t hire a full-time designer transition to successfully establish a digital presence. 

I believe creativity is at the heart of problem-solving.

I work with my community and clients to help them survive - teaching them the strategy and approach to be online and taking time to listen and give them the best tools to do this.

THE CHALLENGE OF FAST GROWTH

My main challenge is that my design studio’s work has quadrupled during 2020 - This year I’m consistently booked out for 2 months ahead of my running calendar, and I have to turn down clients every week. 

On top of my growing design business, I work full-time to ensure cash flow and benefits.

2 REASONS TO HIRE AN INTERN

I want to work with an intern to help get and keep more clients. 

The goal is to hire locally and to give back to the community through one-on-one training. To treat them as someone who is learning the ropes of a business, not just doing the unglamorous tasks.

I want to hire an intern who has a basic understanding of social media, sales, or graphic design. Making it a paid internship is important to me, but it’s not something I can do on my own.

PUTTING THE GRANT TO USE

By receiving a 10,000 grant from IFW and Visa, I would be able to fund the tools, time, and add valuable knowledge to a local intern. That intern would then be able to help me expand my business offerings to help other local businesses become visible online & thrive.
