How do we create spaces for professionals to work, while navigating the scarcity and costs of childcare?
In recent years, the lack of affordable childcare in Vancouver, BC has become an epidemic. Parents continually struggle to achieve and maintain a work-life balance, creating additional stresses beyond the chaotic aspects of parenthood.
Why not combine Family-Friendly Work Space and Work-Friendly Family Space in one location?
Think of InsideOut as a co-working space for parents.
It provides a calm, focused and engaging space where you can prioritize your life outside of parenthood. It also serves as a common ground for professionals to network & collaborate. More importantly, we provide the highest quality of child programming, so that you can focus knowing your child is not only being cared for, but educated. Our hope is to build a community of skilled professionals & empowered parents alike.
The Co-Working Space features with Floor-to-ceiling Windows, Warm Wood Tables & Desks, Plants and numerous Light Features. We offer a variety of seating options including: A Community Table for parents to collaborate, host brainstorming sessions and enjoy a good chat, Individual Booths for a feeling of privacy and focus, a Lounge Area, which invites those to sip a coffee, read a book or spend some quality down time. And if you are feeling like a Hammock would be a good idea, well we offer that as well. Who wouldn't want to write a business plan in a hammock, right?
The Child Programming Space encourages children to touch and feel the most natural textures of wooden toys, natural craft materials and lots of daylight. We've got two Child-Size Wooden Houses that makes for a cozy reading corner, and a Pretend Kitchen for our adventure cooks. There is also plenty of space for crafts, science, exploration, a "quiet" corner & a little lunch room.
Our Trained Supervisors are some of the best in the business prioritizing education and creative exploration.
We are located in the Trout lake area on Commercial Street, a safe and vibrant neighbourhood of Vancouver.
My name is Valeria Tsoy. I am a 2014 Olympic snowboarder, mother of 2-year old Evelyn, and a step-mom to 3 other children. It has taken me 2 years to bring InsideOut to fruition, as I juggle my family life and a full-time job - and I couldn't be more excited. Both high performance sports & motherhood have taught me stamina, dedication and discipline; traits I am bringing to InsideOut and am eager to share with those who use the space. I have invested everything into this venture as I believe that it can make a fundamental difference to the way families bridge financial stability and social well-being.
Our mission is to make parents' lives more meaningful, while strengthening the community, so we are turning to our community for support to make a change together.
Our goal is to raise funds to cover the remaining construction costs, as well as provide some financial stability for the first two months of operation.
Thank you for visiting and we hope you will join us on this journey. Every contribution is useful!
THE FUTURE IS FAMILY
