Who Are We?
No platform exists within entertainment for the sole purpose of connecting marginalized creators to entertainment companies specifically. NAL/Nay Lilly is a platform dedicated to highlighting creators who are often silenced. The platform is available for marginalized communities to network and work cross-functionally. The platform is also open for entertainment companies to diversify their roster of employees for created content. Through obtaining this access, entertainment will be reflective of the diverse audiences’ it caters to.
Who is on the team?
We are a team of seven phenomenal women spanned out between North Carolina, Washington, DC, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Each of us comes from a different background and we each are looking to create community amongst marginalized creators.
What is our mission and vision?
M: Empower marginalized communities within media by fostering relationships and connecting industry professionals to diverse talent.
V: Diversify the media industry by creating a network of the world’s creatives.
What are the objectives of NAL?
NAL has 3 meaningful objectives: to create a pipeline between marginalized communities and professional opportunities in the entertainment industry; to foster community for members of these diverse groups; and to impact future generations of entertainers through mentorship initiatives and partnerships across the country.
Why didn’t we merge with an existing platform?
While there are other efficient professional platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed, NAL caters to a unique, and more importantly, diverse community of artists, creatives, and entertainers. We are aware that there is a space and need for NAL, so we’re choosing to empower those communities by tailoring a platform to their specific needs.
Why is NAL unique?
NAL is the only platform within the entertainment industry that solely focuses on building bridges between marginalized creators and opportunities in the entertainment industry. Now more than ever we recognize a need for intentional representation of these creators on and behind the camera.
