Hero to Zero: Moving Forward

After a 17 year nursing career, it is time to hang up my stethoscope and pursue a personal dream. The Honey Haus is a 25 year old dream that I am working to bring to life. I have been a dedicated nurse, serving thousands of patients. Working through COVID-19 has caused hardships and at times left feelings of defeat. I am excited to continue to serve my community in a different way. I live in a rural community where we often have to drive out of town to obtain goods and services that we seek. The Honey Haus will be a coffee shop, offering specialty coffees, teas, bakery items and small lunches. It will be everyone's favorite place to be. It will have a cozy atmosphere where all can come and enjoy or during their busy schedules can pick up and go. I have asked many in our community about the idea and with each inquiry, I receive an overwhelming answer of Yes. The younger generation has asked if I will have a place for them to come and hang out with their friends or do homework. The older generation has asked about hosting gatherings and business meetings. Teachers have asked about showcasing students such as art work. Businesses have asked about catering. The idea of the Honey Haus is exploding and has already gained much support. I have dedicated my life to my family and this community and the Honey Haus will allow me to continue to do so. It will offer support to our community, support other small businesses in the area, provide jobs, economic growth, enhance and give depth to our community. The closest similar place is about an hour and a half drive which just is not feasible in our day to day lives. Currently, I am working out of my home offering bakery items only. I am seeking a building, equipment, and supplies to make the Honey Haus all that it can be and serve it's true purpose. I truly and sincerely thank you for every ounce of support.
