Project Description
WHO WE ARE
- New Body Project, Inc. is the ONLY all Women's-Boutique Bootcamp Fitness studio in Brooklyn, New York. We lovingly boast that we’re the ONLY one with a Global Social Mission too! When a woman chooses to take her body back and joins The New Body Project - SHE and the world transforms. We’ve created a safe space for all our fitness and life pursuits while strategically harboring a connection through funding the education of underserved children in West Africa, Liberia.
THE NIGHTMARE
- Never in my wildest dreams did ever think I'd be included amongst the many of crime/abuse victims of New York City. But when our community was traumatized by the news that our gym space would be shutting down immediately, we needed a way to save it by securing a temporary home. We worked together and raised a small amount of money to secure a space. Little did we know that the space we'd be sharing was quite the opposite of our messaging and would later prove to be a BIG mistake to our livelihood. In trying to keep the community alive daily endured mental and emotional abuse by the former Landlord- whom I thought would support us. Instead, I endured a year of constant bullying, harassment and ridicule leaving me with no choice after being threatened to leave in order but to protect myself, my family and my boot camp family. After yet another temporary closure, ladies were determined that we stick together even more as a family, we did just that and PRESERVED and the universe answered!
WE RESURRECTED
- After a tearful prayer to the universe; our prayers were answered within a few hours and we found a new temporary safe space within the Brooklyn Fencing Center. Letting us know THAT WE DO HAVE A PURPOSE in this world! We are grateful for our temporary new space and the Landlord here is amazing but it is NOT ours. As we continue to transform women we want to do so with integrity to our business model. We are Brooklyn's ONLY all women's fitness studio that wants to remain a transforming and strong staple in the community. But we need to be in a space that is true to our messaging.
WHY WE'RE DIFFERENT
- The New Body Project has revolutionized the culture of women’s fitness - through COMMUNITY. WE ARE FAMILY! When you're not there YOU ARE MISSED! We even take it a step further and give you call to check-in too! We focus on transforming women from the inside out. Contrary to the norm, our fitness program results are based on how one feels rather than the number on the scale. Our intent is to provide group training with a personal training touch. Our attention to detail isn't by accident. Each workout is performed on Olympic grade flooring taking into account the importance of joint preservation and the health of each member young and old. While the session is conducted members are free to discuss any all topics from Politics, Kids, Marriage to Feminine Hygiene nothing is off limits. Our “no-frills and no-mirrors” atmosphere creates the ambiance of PURPOSE.
THE DREAM
- We are seeking funding to finally secure our new PERMANENT space where WE CAN FINALLY CALL HOME. Where women can workout, bring their children and be at peace. Our goal is to finally secure a home where the women of Brooklyn can feel safe and worried about being judged or ridiculed. Where we can achieve our goal of transforming 200+ women lives by assisting them in achieving their goals of taking their bodies back.

The constant encouragement, hugs, and motivation are what keeps me going. As a mother of two small children, the honor of building this community and raising my children is never easy but the passion and the level of support are what keeps me going. The New Body Project is my family and it would be sad to see it go.

Do you have a shower?
Sadly, we don't but we are very hopeful that our future bathroom will have one.
What type of classes do you offer?
H.I.I.T- High-Intensity Interval Training
Am I too old at 62 to join?
HECK NO! We encourage all women.
