Why I created Skin to Skin
I started Skin to Skin in 2021 with a vision to support women entering the biggest transition of their lives- Motherhood. After a long and painful recovery from my first birth and a rushed postpartum with my second, I began to feel that childbirth and recovery lacked the essential components for a sustainable transition. What I really needed after birth was safe effective products that would heal and comfort me through recovery.
I turned my postpartum experiences into a birth work career as a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula. I made it my mission to help my clients connect to their pregnancies, to advocate for their bodies and babies and to believe in the powerful lineage of natural birth that came before them. I made them balms, salves, sprays, and blends to help them heal. And I brought them traditional teas, soups and broths meant to restore them back to health and to ease their transition into motherhood.
These are things we can all do to help a new generation of mothers who are facing a change in maternal care. Motherhood is a profound rite of passage and yet it has become an experience that most women fear due to a pathological approach to childbirth and the message to "bounce back" afterward. I want deeply for communities to again support their new mothers. You can do this easily by focusing on the mother before the baby. Get her the products she needs to heal for a baby shower gift. And moms— focus on your own self care and basic needs so that you can be a strong provider for baby’s. Let's give mother's the care they need so that they may re-enter society restored, both mentally and physically. Let's rewild the modern mom!

What Do I Make and What’s in it?

Skin to Skin currently has eight products with a new launch of products hitting the market this summer. Currently I make labor and postpartum products for mom including Nipple Butter, Perineal Spray, Healing Salve, Herbal Bath, Aromatherapy and Lip Balm. Because baby has skin needs too, I make an unbeatable Diaper Balm and soothing Sleep Oil. These products are all versatile and meet different needs for almost every member of the family. Coming this summer, Skin to Skin will be launching Labor, Postpartum and Baby kits to properly prepare families for their big journey.

I use only nature-based, 100% organic ingredients including homegrown Calendula that I harvest and infuse myself in all organic oils. Growing this herb myself results in highly effective balms for restoration and gives my products the most beautiful warm scent. 
 

Where You Can Find My Products

Currently Skin to Skin is sold in health and wellness grocery stores, boutiques and birth centers in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties and online at www.SkintoSkinOnline.com. We are currently working towards landing our first chain of stores in California this year.
