Help Expand Kristen Clark Cosmetics

My name is Kristen Clark, and I am the owner of Kristen Clark Cosmetics LLC. I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and now reside in Gary, Indiana. One of my biggest aspirations has always been to be a business owner of a successful brand where I can also help other people.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting lockdown caused 114 million people to lose their jobs over the course of 2020; in December, women lost a total of 156,000 jobs where men gained 16,000 jobs. As a result of this, women, especially mothers are spending more time at home with their children. Mothers that were once in the workforce have gotten used to this change due to lack of childcare or other previously available resources. 

I was one of those mothers that decided to start a business during the pandemic. I started my business with $1500 in the corner of my bedroom, and has now expanded into a she-shed on the side of my house in a short period of time. What kicked my entrepreneurial drive into high gear was when I almost lost my husband.  It had to be one of the most scariest moments of my life. Once he left the hospital, I promised him that I will do what I can to take care of him while he recovered, and the thought of expanding my business instantly came to mind. I've had my moments when I wanted to throw in the towel, but my spirit and the look on my children's faces whenever they see me doing anything with my business and knowing that I inspire them to do the same thing gave me the motivation to keep going.

Kristen Clark Cosmetics helps entrepreneurs start or expand their beauty brand by providing affordable quality private label products such as premade lip gloss, body butters and lip scrubs.  We take the hassle out of creating formulas and making a mess by doing all of the work for you!

With over 900 sales on Etsy, Kristen Clark Cosmetics is looking to expand. The purpose of funding would be to purchase larger quantities of supplies to reduce cost and increase profit, continuing to renovate my office space to use to host live classes to be able to better help entrepreneurs looking to break out in the beauty industry.
