Healing Kingdom of Kongo

THE MISSION

The Healing Kingdom of Kongo is a modern community based upon the traditional customs and beliefs of the Kongolese tribes of West Central Africa once united as the very prosperous and powerful ancient Kingdom of Kongo.  This community is driven towards spreading awareness across the globe and the preservation of the culture, language, history, ecology and spirituality of the Kongo.  We are committed to bridging the gap between The Kongo and The African Diaspora.

THE PROBLEM

As a result of the transatlantic slave trade, 40-60 % of the people displaced were from one of the countries that was encompassed by the ancient Kingdom of Kongo.  This particular kingdom was more like an empire.  Now centuries later many African Americans and others of the African Diaspora around the world have a feeling of incompleteness because their true ancestry is unknown.  It is shown in the significant rise of more and more people of the diaspora tracing their ancestry with DNA testing.  This is due to a yearning to know more of who we truly are and where our people originated from.  It is the same as an adopted child who one day seeks to know more about their birth parents.  Therefore, even with DNA test results, there is still missing pieces to the puzzle due to the inability to connect with the country one's ancestors originated from and a lack of understanding the culture.

OUR MARKET

According to most sources, with Brazil being #1 (appr. 55.9 million) and the United States being #2 (appr. 46.4 million), they are the Top Countries with the largest populations of the African Diaspora.  This is usually followed by Haiti, Columbia, and France in the Top 5.  As stated above, 40-60% of the African Diaspora in these countries have ancestral links to one of the countries that was apart of the Kingdom of Kongo.  With this being said, market analysis have shown in increase in the sales of Ancestry DNA Test Kits and predict even more of almost a 30% increase over the next 5 years.  This is a good indication that people want to know more about their heritage and ancestral background. 

DNA Ancestry test only provide a glimpse and may spark the fire...but then what.  People who have a desire to place the pieces of the puzzle together will seek to know more about their ancestral culture.

THE REASONS FOR FUNDING and HOW IT WILL BE SPENT

The Healing Kingdom of Kongo is partnering with several organizations and individuals who are native residents of Congo-Brazzaville and Congo-Kinshasa to provide online courses as well as in-person visits to those of the diaspora.  Resources and funding will also cover the following accommodations:

• Internet service for language courses and other classes to be offered Online
• Instructor fees
• Translation of books from French to English for literature resources
• Purchase of ancient artifacts, shipping of those artifacts from Congo to the U.S, and the development of a small Art Gallery in the U.S.
• Construction of a spiritual temple for initiations and further practices of traditional ancestral customs of the Congo
• Planting medicinal herbs
• Restoring memorial sites and damaged century-old trees near these sites

In addition, contributions will help us grow and provide more services to our community.

THE FOUNDER and ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

The Healing Kingdom of Kongo is a sector within the Isis Moon organization.  Isis Moon is a cultural and holistic organization lead by Janiqwa "Iya J." Nganga, a community priestess of Yoruba and Kongo Traditional Spirituality.  She is the founder and CEO of this awesome organization.   As an African American woman who has discovered much about her destiny and ancestors through various systems, Iya J. offers a wide range of intuitive and spiritual services as a form of Life Coaching to others.  She is passionate about the spiritual arts, as well as the Healing Kingdom of Kongo because she herself has traced her own ancestry.  Well known and trusted within the community, Iya J. has been a priestess and active spiritual practitioner for almost 13 years.

She is assisted by other supporting priest and priestesses, as well as business and individual partnerships in the Congo.
