Gumbo Radio- Developing & Growing INDIE Talent/Bus

The primary mission of the Gumbo Radio Show Podcast Movement is to provide our viewers, listeners, supporters, followers & fans with resources and access to nationwide independent brands that are seeking a diverse platform to promote and showcase their talents from. 

The problem that we are solving is the lack of cost efficient support, media, and promotional/marketing needs in our local & nationwide communities.  We are changing the narrative with our show and offering ALL individuals a media home that is comfortable, engaging and interactive.  We shine positive lights on ALL of our guests and offer them on-going support and assistance outside of interviews through business development services as well as artist development, content creation, video and audio footage and phots shoots as needed on their independent journey.  We are sponsored by Naomia Morgan- Owner/CEO of Cajun Cousins a Bayou Style Louisiana Restaurant and he company provides all of our podcast guests with a bowl of GUMBO while they interview with the GUMBO RADIO SHOW!  

We are essentially offering businesses and brands an opportunity to showcase and consumers an opportunity to shop with credible and unique brands nationwide. 

 Our show provides a forum for up-and-coming artists of all music genres, businesses seeking exposure, comedians, therapist, models .actors/actresses, public figures, teachers and more to market/promote their projects, businesses to run ads/commercials as well as attend pop-up shops and other business related events, producers that need artists to showcase their beats, promoters and other podcasts/radio shows and independent media personalities.  We are bridging the gap in MEDIA and HIPHOP and also making it cool to work together and collaborate.  We are one of the first shows to interview and bring other shows onto our show to promote them.  We stand for UNITY and EVOLUTION we need to grow and not be afraid to talk to each other and open up and tell each other our interests and ventures.  That is how growth is developed.

So why "Gumbo" right? The idea of Gumbo is a bunch of diverse but amazing things combined to create an amazing flavor. 

In summary, our goal is to provide exposure to any independent entrepreneur/brand/platform working to expose their creative abilities.  The GUMBO Movement does all this and more by incorporating round table-talk discussions with independent businesses from all over the world, providing the owners with an opportunity to feature their products and services live or in a virtual environment. The Gumbo Radio Show Podcast was created to provide exposure to any independent entrepreneurs working to build their brand, as well as play mixes of independent and underground artists and provide our viewers with valuable and credible resources

I am seeking funding for all of the following business related reasons-

1.  I would like to have the ability to pay my employees out regularly.  At this time they are working on good faith for me.  I was paying all 4 of them $100.00 per week when we first started the show and then COVID 19 hit and I was furloughed out from my previous role.  I tried to keep up with it and just couldn't so I ended up racking up a lot of back pay to the team that I started to pay off slowly between stimulus checks and tax money.  I would like to properly back pay them out and have the ability to pay them consistently for all of their hard work.

2. Look into renting or owning a consistent place to film and making some minor decor adjustments ( Painting ) Currently we rent through an app called (peerspace.com) and rent out a different type of home or loft for each show at a rate of about $60/HR

3.  Equipment- We are in need of a better quality camera set up as well as mics and headphones to block background noise when we conduct interviews at large events.  Our Dj is in need of some minor updates for his equipment as well.  

4. Monetizing on YouTube/Social Sites & Commercials- We are looking to spread the word and do a massive promo campaign by putting out ads that will push traffic.  We plan to utilize any of the above marketing methods and would also incorporate some gorilla marketing, poster/flyer posting and business cards to pass out.
