The most comprehensive, user friendly, and industry changing Entertainment App on the market!
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Angela Calo. I am a DC native and I have worked around the world as a professional entertainer my entire adult life. Now that I am 40, I am looking to give back to the entertainment community and find a way to improve the lives of freelance artists. My App will support the Gig to Gig performer by allowing them to plan their day to day lives as a freelance artist and provide them with instant feedback, advice, and encouragement following each audition.
In the entertainment industry, the audition process and the daily grind is so brutal that many artists fall victim to addiction, battle depression, and/or struggle with self-worth issues. It is a constant road of judgement and rejection and there is never any feedback or advice after you audition for a role, unless, of course, you book that job. It is always just, “thank you next,” and there is no courtesy email or notification telling you that they’ve gone with someone else. It is a perpetual state of anxiety, wonder, and worry ... and it is a horrible way to live.
Therefore, I am doing my part to improve the system!
I have developed an Audition App that bridges the gap between Casting and Talent. This has never been done before and it will revolutionize the industry.
Casting Director’s will be able to input their thoughts for each performer and that will immediately notify the performer of their status (I.e. did they book the job, or not), and what they need to work on for next time.
The App will give artists suggestions of coaches, mentors, classes, nutritionists, etc.,via the App's Marketplace.
Performers will be able to store video reels, audio clips, sheet music, headshots and resumes, scripts, agent information, contact information, credits, and their own availability calendar. Rather scribble your name on a blank sheet of paper (which is the current system), talent will use the App to scan in to each audition by using their own personalized QR code. This will create a real time running wait list that will be visible to both casting and performer.
This kind of interface will solve a huge problem, will be completely new and will be most welcome by the entertainment industry. There is a great need for the audition process to be revamped and improved and Gig2Gig is the solution.
My mission is to code, launch, and market the app by May of this year. So far, I have put up my own money and I have managed to pay for the LLC, Domain name www.gig2gig.com, the wire framing, the design and prototype, and the deposit on the coding. I am, however, in need of investors.
My goal is to raise at least $200,000 in capital in order to sustain my company for 18 months.
The funds will go toward the remainder of the coding, which totals $62,500, the marketing and advertising of the App, which I anticipate will be $10,000, monthly hosting and tech support, $6750 for 18 months, attorney fees, $14000 for 18 months, accountant, $5500, insurance, $1000 for 18 months, my salary of $6500 per month for 18 months, and freelance contractors who I will hire at the beginning to attend auditions and troubleshoot any issues that may arise, $7550 for 18 months.
I am currently having a Business Plan drafted and will have that available to any interested investors.
There is nothing I am more passionate about and nothing I have worked harder on than Gig2Gig. Supporting artists of all kinds and finding a way to assist them with the daily rejection that is the entertainment industry, is my mission in life.
I thank you for your consideration and I look forward to speaking with you about the terms and the future of Gig2Gig.
