MAKING A FILM IS NOT EASY…
but it is even more difficult for a young female filmmaker in a male-dominated industry. Two years ago, I left the corporate world to pursue the arts in Bollywood. After learning how the filmmaking process works, I wrote a story that I’m extremely excited to share with you.
“ADDICTION” TELLS THE STORY OF HOW…
a personal exploration spirals into a serious dependence. This film is designed to play with your physiological responses by telling the story entirely through an original composition of music.
WITHOUT A TEAM, NOTHING IS POSSIBLE.
My insanely talented team includes a composer, a director, DOP, and actors from TV shows (and Netflix!). Musicians from multiple continents will record our soundtrack. Out of our film’s 11 departments, 7 are women-led — an outstanding statistic for any project in the entertainment industry.
THIS IS A REAL FILM: AN INDUSTRY-LEVEL PROJECT…
complete with locations, pre-production, rehearsals, equipment, editing studios, art department, and post-production. Although my team is contributing to the project for free, there are some unavoidable costs associated with making the short film. I am looking for $5,500 to fund our final phase of production. Your contribution supports the technical needs of me AND my brilliant team for whom this project may open doors.
SMALL AMOUNTS CAN BUILD AN “ADDICTION”
As a token of our appreciation, all donors will be thanked in the special credits section of the film and receive once-monthly updates on our progress in the first year (opt-in basis). We also offer additional thank-you gifts in tiers to US-based donors.
Thank you for your support and generosity, and I look forward to welcoming you to the “Addiction” family!
WHO AM I?
My name is Tricha Kumar, and I am a filmmaker eager to tell stories. I have years of show experience in production, logistics, and storytelling -- all obtained while juggling full-time school, then career. After graduating from Georgetown University and completing three years in a corporate job, I moved to India to pursue my passions in creative expression. I've been in Mumbai for two years as a choreographer and production member in the film and entertainment industry.
This film is my first independent foray into filmmaking, and I could not be more ecstatic about my new industry and my new country. Please see above and my website for more information. Thank you for your consideration, and I am excited to welcome you on this journey of "Addiction."
