Fund a Womxn of Color Centered Streaming Service
Uplift and support Womxn of Color Creatresses (Creatives+Godesses) by funding a streaming service that hosts content created by WOC.
Project Description
Womxn of Color deserve to have their stories told, and what better way to do that than a dedicated streaming service for Womxn of Color Creatresses. The CreatressTV™ network will be an online streaming service (and eventually an app-based service) that will host content produced and directed by Womxn of Color. This type of streaming service will be the first of it's kind.
CreatressTV is an initiative of SM Media Enterprise | The Creatress Universe™. SM Media Enterprise is a media production company that offers Womxn of Color a safe space to share their stories freely. Through the Creatress Universe™, SM Media strives to bring Womxn of Color Creatresses together to inspire each other and make necessary changes in the industry.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 in funding.
Funding will allow us to 1. Pay the content providers- Womxn of Color Producers and Directors, 2. Set up the streaming platform, and 3. Market to spread the word about CreatressTV™, and get eyes on the amazing content.
With the funding, we plan to launch the streaming service to the public on October 5, 2020. This will be a subscription-based service with pricing starting at 9.99 (monthly)/97.00 (annually).
As the service grows, we plan on producing original content (i.e. movies, series, documentaries, etc.) that will be exclusively available on the CreatressTV™ Platform.
Saidah Murphy is the Founder and CEO of SM Media Enterprise and The Creatress Universe™. Working as a Media Production Specialist and Coach, she equips Womxn of Color with the knowledge, support, and resources needed to tell their stories in the most authentic, unfiltered, and unapologetic way through creative media production. Saidah has always had a passion for the Media Arts and uses that passion to drive her business.
Saidah is a graduate of the University of Michigan (BA in Communications) and The George Washington University (MEdu in Organizational Leadership & Learning), and she currently lives in San Diego with her daughter.
