Project Description

Hello! My name is Amanda Hubbard, Owner of Fresh Life Recovery Homes, a venture that supports woman recovering from substance abuse.

I have been involved in the 12 step community for the past 5 years. When I decided to turn my life around, I stayed in a recovery home for 18 months total. I was then able to experience the impact it made on my life and the lives of many others. When addicts/alcoholics get out of rehabs, jails, institutions or want to make a change, it is crucial to be placed in a supportive and accountable environment for lifelong recovery. Fresh Life takes pride in keeping our homes clean, modern, safe, and supportive. Fresh Life Recovery Homes has opened to give back to the community, and impact as many women as possible.

We recently created this fund to help aid in buying furniture, appliances, insurance and anything else the house may need to start homing woman in need. Funds will also be used to sponsor woman coming out of jails, institutions, detox, or even off the streets. Women coming out of these types of facilities or situations are in need of housing with a compassionate and structured environment! A lot of women coming out of these facilities have no where to go and end up going back to very toxic, sometimes abusive environments.

The recovery process doesn't end after 7, 30 or 90 days of treatment. The transition back to life outside of rehab is fraught with the potential for relapse. Aftercare resources such as 12-step groups and sober living homes increases the odds of lasting recovery far more than being on the streets, or going back to the same place they were before.

We provide woman in our house with

1. A safe environment

2.Affordable Housing

3. Wifi/internet

4.Curfew for accountability

5. Washer/dryer

6. Resources to get a job

7. Support and unity from other woman

8. Toiletries/ laundry soap/ toilet paper/ paper towel

9.Weekly House Meetings on Topics related to recovery/a new life

10. Resources in finding a sponsor for support

When you donate any amount to our campaign, from $15 to $5,000, you are helping to bring someones daughter, mom, sister, niece or grandma into lifelong recovery and become a part of the change in out community. Thank you!

The Campaign FAQs

Fresh Life Recovery Homes' Standards:
First, we say "REAL" because frankly most sober living homes do not provide real structure or accountability.

  • A home where women live together who not only say they are attempting to recover from substance abuse, but in order to really change their lives and to protect the sanctity of the recovery house, are willing to prove it on a daily basis by their own actions and by holding each other accountable.
  • A nice, clean, and comfortable home.
  • Within walking/biking distance of plenty of jobs, NA/AA meetings, and public transportation.
  • Members are provided strong, healthy structure and accountability.
  • Members are required to work an active and consistent 12 step program.
  • Daily chores and weekly deep cleaning duties.
  • Zero tolerance substance abuse policy.
  • Fees cover all basic necessities.
  • Effective rules that benefit and protect the health and sobriety of the house.
  • Proper maintenance and care of the house.
  • Observance of basic 'good neighbor' policies.
  • Onsite house manager who actively engage and hold those accountable living in the house.
  • At least weekly regular visits, inspections, and oversight from off-site  Managers to further insure the good and healthy operation of our houses.
