Hello! My name is Amanda Hubbard, Owner of Fresh Life Recovery Homes, a venture that supports woman recovering from substance abuse.
I have been involved in the 12 step community for the past 5 years. When I decided to turn my life around, I stayed in a recovery home for 18 months total. I was then able to experience the impact it made on my life and the lives of many others. When addicts/alcoholics get out of rehabs, jails, institutions or want to make a change, it is crucial to be placed in a supportive and accountable environment for lifelong recovery. Fresh Life takes pride in keeping our homes clean, modern, safe, and supportive. Fresh Life Recovery Homes has opened to give back to the community, and impact as many women as possible.
We recently created this fund to help aid in buying furniture, appliances, insurance and anything else the house may need to start homing woman in need. Funds will also be used to sponsor woman coming out of jails, institutions, detox, or even off the streets. Women coming out of these types of facilities or situations are in need of housing with a compassionate and structured environment! A lot of women coming out of these facilities have no where to go and end up going back to very toxic, sometimes abusive environments.
The recovery process doesn't end after 7, 30 or 90 days of treatment. The transition back to life outside of rehab is fraught with the potential for relapse. Aftercare resources such as 12-step groups and sober living homes increases the odds of lasting recovery far more than being on the streets, or going back to the same place they were before.
