Hi, I'm Bri, and I'm the owner/creator at Foxtail Studio
Foxtail Studio is a pottery home and goods provider that produces hand crafted items for everyday use.
In the age of online shopping and fast retail, consumers have become detached to the common household items in their living space as they are mass produced, cheap, and easily replaced. This affects the quality of goods that are available to the consciously aware consumers, who have a growing desire to know and support makers of the products they buy.
Foxtail Studio creates goods that are entirely handmade and unique, but designed to fit in and complement contemporary living, such as bottles for liquid soap, sponge holders, teapots and lamps. Simple, household objects that still have a strong aesthetic value.
My customers are people who appreciate hand crafted work, supporting artisans, and using things that were made with care and attention to detail rather than the mass market stuff that breaks as easily or needs to be replaced often.
I graduated with my BFA in ceramics, and I was often told I have a knack for creating commercial-ready items that wouldn't just sit on a shelf and become dust collectors. I want people to take my work home, and use it. Cherishing it for it's function as much as it's aesthetic, not just leaving it in a glass cabinet only to be brought out for super special occasions.
I am raising money on iFundWomen to get my business off the ground and have a full-time studio practice.
