"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Well, unfortunately for those out there searching for love, dating is totally broken!
People want awesome IRL dating experiences, but sadly in today's dating culture that's not the case. They’re more often than not stuck with awkward, anxiety-producing, expensive, time-consuming, and even dangerous 1-on-1's. It's a romance minefield riddled with catfishing, lack of conversation topics, no-shows, one too many drinks, and unclear next steps just to name a few. In many cases dating leaves singles feeling even more single, and the risks of dating alone, especially for younger daters, are more than a little unsettling.
Have No Fear, Fourplay Is Here
Founded by Julie Griggs and Danielle Dietzek, two single female licensed healthcare professionals, Fourplay is a double dating app that enables singles to team up with a friend and match with other pairs. It’s a more fun, less awkward, and much safer way to date. It allows users to meet and go out in groups rather than date alone with a total stranger.
Fourplay fixes a dysfunctional dating culture that robs singles of fun and natural opportunities to find love. It creates a space where singles spend time with their friends genuinely enjoying their singlehood. In short, we provide the “foreplay,” to the beginning steps of dating by reintroducing excitement and chemistry into current dating practices that leave singles with inauthentic connections and perpetual disappointments.
Not Just Safer Dating, Healthier Dating Too
From a safety standpoint, dating using "the buddy system" means an extra set of eyes watching out for you to help defend against foul play. Whether that means having someone to watch your drink while you go to the bathroom, or to back you up when you say you don't want to be walked home by a stranger, it really is the smarter and more responsible way to date.
Plus, having been created by two healthcare professionals, the value of "social health" is embedded deep within Fourplay's DNA. The fact that Fourplay can only be experienced with a friend not only helps to cure the awkwardness of dating, but also the insecurities and anxieties that go with it. All matching and communications are done in a group dynamic, helping to alleviate both the mental and emotional stresses of dating as well as its physical safety risks.
So, What's Going On Otherwise?
It's been quite the ride since we came up with the idea for Fourplay while stuck in New York City rush hour traffic (yes, you read that correctly), and we're just getting started!
The Moment of Truth
We need your help! We need you to help us grow Fourplay from 2,600 accounts to 26,000 accounts. We get emails all of the time from our users telling us how excited they are about this idea.
