Feast in a Basket - Feast Cares

Feast in a Basket has always wanted to be known for more than just catering. One of Feast’s defining missions is to emphasize the importance of balanced, healthy eating and proper nutrition. This funding will give us the ability to launch our first health and wellness initiative, Feast Cares. The purpose of this initiative is to not only find creative ways to address the issue of food deserts in low-income neighborhoods through coordination events such as pop-up markets but also to tackle childhood hunger in the area. According to Feeding America, in DC alone, 24,280 children struggle with hunger. We will also utilize funds to expand the reach of our healthy eating classes by developing a series of virtual courses available through our website, along with additional digital content. With your help, it will improve our chances of success by giving us the proper means to staff and facilitate many of our initial projects.
